So if 95% of highest merit applicants are from one country, that should be allowed to happen in your opinion theoretically?
Yes, because that is what meritocracy stands for. Canada doesn't owe this world anything. They are doing this for themselves. They are not creating a utopian heterogeneous society. They are taking in people who can contribute the max.

I would be okay with it as long as it is merit based. Everyone gets the same points for the set criteria and I will be fine with it as long as they don't award points to people because of their country of origin. It's a meritocracy and that means it should not take things like nationality into consideration.

Hi everyone,
I would like to know those who have been following EE draws... What is the minimum score you think the CEC will achieve?
I know it's just guesses, right!
Thanks!

I don't think the FSW will open until the boarder reopens. Considering the epidemic and the case numbers shown every day, I think the best situation is FSW reopens after June.
Border controls have nothing to do with FSW draws. The process is long drawn out after an ITA, atleast 6 to 8 months. I wonder how can you say "the best situation is FSW reopens after June". Have you considered the thousands of people who would have lost points because of age during this time. Quite frankly, they are the only ones who lost out on an opportunity would absolutely disagree with you.

I am hoping for a general draw soon, however, I think the FSW draws are paused due to several countries being in lock down. As soon as the restrictions are lifted, we should see all-program draws.

There is so much negativity out here these days. In spite of everything, we are trying to stay positive through these difficult times. Unless it's a verified source of news, can people stop speculating the negative views? I know people are free to have their own opinions, but this thread was created (not talking about the name) for those who are still waiting for their ITA and in spite of everything, we are still holding on to that hope. So just let us be. If you feel it won't happen, fine. Then please don't be bothered by it. Simple. Why argue and waste time if you don't believe in it anyway? I just lost 5 points today and I believe that sooner or later, things will pick up again. Let's stay positive guys! We have waited for a long time, just hold on a little longer. At least till we get any "official" news anyway.

that would be a disaster. it would lead to pockets of communities from the same countries to entire cities where these folks would dominate local politics which would them metastasize to country wide levels and that would in turn lead to polical parties based on ethnicities and nationalities and an import of culture and easing of immigration policies so that many people of the same nation could enter. basically a soft invasion.

I agree, but right now Canada is running merit based immigration keeping its economy in mind and it just happens to be a lot of Indians are getting selected based on merit and who knows they might change it in the future to accommodate other people also to increase diversity but not affect the merit people . Right now the new immigrants coming to Canada in the past 10 years doesn't even round up to 0.5 percent of the Canadian population.

I think eventually, there will be quotas placed on the number of immigrants they accept from one country in express entry annually

I think whenever there is an influx of immigrants from one country like there is now from India, there will be calls for limiting their numbers.

I prefer a purely meritocratic system, but i think there will be a growing number of voices saying that to protect Canada's demographics, it should place constraints on the number of immigrants coming from one country, especially when it dominates EE as much as it does.

But i don't think you have to worry about that immediately, i think there are still a few years before this stance gathers momentum politically.

Just curious, did your score get recalculated exactly at 12:00AM, I am guessing EST timezone?

Sorry to hear that, i'm still hoping there will be bumper B2B FSW draws.

It will offset the loss in points hopefully.
