I would have chosen not to comment, but you are saying total nonsense. Do you think Ontario economy will survive if locked down for 3 months? Have you even try to look at the recovery rate of Ontario? Its even higher that the rate of new cases. There was high cases today as all pending tests were ramped up yesterday, canada currently has no pending tests which is positive as it shows the country is doing well in terms of testing people which is key to preventing the spread. Try to be Optimistics and not just open your mouth and say pessimistic things that you know nothing about.

Yes, No wonder Ontario keep getting more cases and I don't see any decline from here

yea still many cars on 401/QEW/DVP and long line up outside costco-walmart

Gov need to put a stronger measure ....otherwise don't think about re-open

I understand Canada summer is short and people wanna go out
It's going to take time yet. I think people like the ones who are so rude in this forum need to understand that they will be a federal draw when it has been given the green light. This is what all the argument is about. I really hope people stay safe and Ontario has a stricter lockdown to avoid a second wave.

Apologies if it appears rude. But @facethereality is too pessimistics that he always wants to bring it here which is not reasonable as its against the reason for this trend. It would have been better if he at least state factual things instead of bringing wrongful assumptions

Thank you for apologizing. I understand where you are coming from and I agree the whole purpose of this forum is to support each other, I strongly suggest those who wish to come on here to be rude, unfair and disrespectful keep away from this forum and perhaps Canada too. Canada is a land of opportunity and great people live here who open the arms to us, their respectful manners are appreciated. Those who dont understand this need to stay where they are.

Of Cuz I want to re-open asap rather than work at home now...wanna go to shopping mall, beach, dine-in again and visit my friend, camping, visit provincial park etc

but what you said is very irresponsible to the front line health care just becuz of ppl immigration goalo_O go talk to Canadian here, who give a damn on immigration at this moment lol
I am not against re opening or otherwise. What I am saying is that be optimistic about the situation. Ontario is not as bad as what the modelling presented and it has been proven. They have reaches the peak and also measures are being put in place to avoid a second wave. You saying they wont open until July is not reasonable at all. The economy will collapse if locked down for 4 straight months

And a second wave will destroy the economy further and that's why they are trying their best to make things better for us

Exactly. If organization starts purchasing the fast test kit and individuals start acquiring home test kit(when approved), things will become better. Lets be optimistic

Well, personally, I dont see so many big companies are closed here, only the thing is small businesses like gyms, spa's, saloon's just for example gonna be badly effected this way.

In terms of prevention totally lock down is required as per experts guidelines but this is not happening at all and perhaps that is why cases are still going up.

So, here it is unpredictable at the moment what gonna happen next, in case of more victims, government might impose more restrictions but at the moment this is not going to hit hard to the economy except small business owners (I believe)

You owe no one no apologies or whatsoever they want to tame it . Some dude just wants to transfer their frustration into this thread with some absurd assumptions which are far from the fact and they deserve what they get. For the guy sitting on the fence, he better take a side and stop promoting misinformation. What we are fighting is Covid and not humans. Ford has been doing a great job and it is clear from the number of cases recorded when compared with the speculated figures by health experts.

It is still too early to tell..May is coming soon in 7 days and we are still in the peak range...Ford said absolutely not reopen on May 24th...so July is the next possible date for that ~ you need at least 14 days grace period in order to safely re-open something (this is when case is under 50 per day)

we still have 500+ cases everyday and 600+ today....we aren't even sure we are at very "peak" yet....

Look at safe place like Hong Kong, Taiwan etc...they only have single digit per day and still in half lockdown stage

We all understand econ will collapse...thats why gov paid $2000 CERB and $1250 to student for 4 months...75% for business to maintain....nobody can control the mother nature
Inclined to agree with this. I'm currently residing in NZ and we are now down to single figures of new cases each day (only 3 yesterday), but will remain under lockdown for at least another 2 weeks. Restrictions will be lessened somewhat for the next 2 weeks - restaurants will be able to open for take away and stores can sell online, but everyone still needs to stay at home. I think this "loosening" of the restrictions will just bring NZ in line with most of the world's lockdown measures, as it has been very strict here for the last month - no takeaways, no stores selling online (except food and essential goods), police stopping people on the streets to check where they're going, etc - but it seems to have been successful.

Things should hopefully start getting back to normal here soon - but still the borders will remain closed, I wouldn't be surprised if they remain closed until the end of the year or until there is a vaccine. Even if Canada can get things under control, I don't think they can open the borders until the rest of the world also controls it - particularly the US - otherwise there will just be a second and potentially bigger wave. But hopefully once they get it under some kind of control they can do at least do FSW draw and process our applications for when the borders reopen :D

Usually I dont like your posts( sorry to be brutally honest), but i absolutely agree to this 100% living in Toronto.
