So, this ban is not gonna be lifted before June 30 with possibility of extension right? My CoPR was issued on March 15 and expires on May 15. I guess I should raise that web form now. I was waiting for any further announcement from IRCC.
@canuck_in_uk Your thought, please?
As issued by the Governor General, yes the ban applies for now until 30 June, and personally i think it is unlikely to be lifted before then.

You can raise the webform now, mine expires on 30 April, so i will wait until mid April before i send the webform, just to see how the situation progresses.

There is still a slim chance that an exemption could be granted to COPR holders to land, so i'm waiting for now.

People have to consider not only the travel ban in Canada but also the travel ban in their home country as well.

Right now for example, there are 2 bans in place preventing me from travelling. And there is no direct flight to Canada, so there could be a third travel ban in place for the airport in which i have to transit through.

It is what it is, people have to be strong. We'll get through this together.

Guys, cool heads prevail.

I know how you feel, i'm still somewhat devastated with the 30 June travel ban, because it definitely means my documents will expire before i can land.

But this is life, it will not take a long time for them to re-issue us COPR and PR visa, because as per their criteria, it's only ensuring validity of criminality and security checks, and your medical. People have had to do remedicals and were issued their documents soon after, it's not something which takes a long time, don't be pessimistic about it.

Also, let's not turn on one another, we're all in the same boat, or we care about people in this situation.

Let's stay united.

I'm also holding out hope for a slim chance that there could be exemption provided to us to land before 30 June, if the situation improves and they have the spread under control.

We could have a special measure introduced to allow people to land before May for example. so let's wait and see. Whoever's documents are expiring soon however, like in a few days, you should already send the webform to request an extension. The situation is fluid and still evolving, the travel ban could be reduced if things are improving as well.

Just be ready to apply for your extension when the time approaches your expiration date. I'm already gathering all the proof i need to show i tried to travel, and the various travel bans in place in my home country and in Canada. Get all of that compiled for when you have to send your webform.
Very slim chance for coronavirus situation improving in Canada since they have open borders with the US, the epicentre on the continent.

Do not take it personal, I am not rude person, I am here to provide information and get information and share information if possible concerning CoPr people related to Coronavirus situation, what is rude in that dude?
Just converse as if we all were talking in person, it is very easy to lose the sense that the other person is a human being as well when sitting behind a computer screen. In a networking event, you wouldn't just not care about feelings and emotions when sharing or receiving the information, will you?

You are missing the point here. Rescheduling your flight will not work. Even if your airline is still flying the route, the ban is applicable at port of entry. Border is closed for non citizens and non pr.
So regardless whether you airline cancels the flight or not, you will be denied entry at the Canadian airport.

Silver lining: For all of us first time landers, the condition within Canada is less than ideal at the moment. Starting a new life for an immigrant is difficult even during normal days, imagine what it would be like during a state of emergency. No jobs, no hiring, difficulty finding accomodation, no supplies at supermarkets.
Think of the ban as something positive and temporary saving us from a potentially worse situation to be stuck in.
I don't think this is a positive situation in any way. If someone wants to believe that it's an opinion, but please don't create an inaccurate sense of calm for people.

The ban is a denial of boarding, not a denial of entry at a POE. That means that if a person can get to Canada, they will not be denied entry unless there is some other reason to do so.
So if I am able to board an aircraft which manages to land in Canada, I won't be denied entry? (provided no issues with documentation, POF etc)
Can you please confirm?

Can someone literate in Legalese, please look at the subsection 2(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act to see what they say about CoPR. Because my reading through it doesn't seem to find anything.

It's not an open border anymore, it's only for essential travel.

They should have done that sooner IMO, but at least they did it now.

If u r crossing through land border any port of USA. You will be denied entry if you fail to provide proof of having immediate relationship with PR/CC.
For others no airline will allow you to board if you fail to provide relationship with PR/CC.
LOUD AND CLEAR: only immediate relatives or family sponsors class with CORP would be allowed to enter.
It is still not clear if landing formalities will be done in person or later through telephone.
Hope it will help
THANKS

It is not about emotions and feelings, we are trying to discuss a critical case, let me explain again: some poeple have CoPr expiring soon and they have prepared their trip by leaving all their past behind and suddenly Global changed happened...which means these people are left in Limbo! so normally a person who has CoPr expiring in 7 or 8 months should not get worried as there are dozens of people in much more sensitive situations where they have CoPr gonna expire in less than a month or in 10days!

When you fill IRCC web form
It means that if you're contacting them to advise that you can't travel due to the outbreak then you select No instead of Yes and then you get the button that will take you to the web form. If you're contacting them because of something else, answer as you would irrespective of the outbreak. I imagine this is because enquiries for guidance on the travel ban would get processed by a central office rather than visa offices outside of Canada.

For others, this is the context-
https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp
Have you submitted an application for:
  • permanent residence
  • student
  • visitor
  • worker
- Yes
- No

Is your application being processed by an office OUTSIDE Canada?
- Yes
- No
IMPORTANT: If you’re currently being impacted by COVID-19, answer No to this question.
