Hi @cansha, I have been browsing this thread since I found out my case is being processed in Montreal VO. I'm grateful that you started this thread and that so many "lucky" applicants gathering here and share their timelines & experiences.

Since you are more experienced in this, would you please give me some advice about my case?

FSW inland
AOR: Sep 16, 2019
MEP: Sep 30, 2019
Case was transferred to Montreal VO on Oct 10, 2019, according to an agent.
Current status:
- Eligibility in process
- Criminality in process
- Security not started
I think this status has been remaining like this for months. I also ordered the GCMS notes on Jan 2 but got a 90 day delay. I ordered the 2nd set of the notes few days ago and hopefully I can get it this time.
Called IRCC twice and got the "Everything looks good" answer and "Eligibility under review, background check not started" answer respectively.

My questions are: do you think it's normal that eligibility and criminality are in process at the same time for such long time? What's the possibility of such circumstance? I also saw two FSW inland cases recently getting refused at Montreal VO on immitracker because of the applicants' job reference letter issues and that makes me quite nervous about mine. Any advice?

Thanks for reading this long post!
Hey, do you happen to remember the total processing time (from AOR to rejection date) of the two immitracker applications that you saw? I am trying to infer how long they take to reject people.

Of course they can reject or accept anyone at any point but examples would be helpful. Thanks!

Yeah, I remember it's around 210ish days for the both rejected cases. I think it's terrible because those two applicants had been waiting for more than 6 tedious months! I'm so sad they had to go through this.

Wow that is just brutal to be honest. It should not take 7 months to conclude that a letter of experience does not meet the requirements! Do you recall if they had ADRs related to job descriptions?

That reinforces the importance of requesting GCMS notes to learn what's going on. We must have ownership of our processes. It's really sad to be denied after such a long time. :(

If one finds out his/her file is in Montreal, their first step should be to order GCMS notes. If those two individuals didn't do it then it's quite sad. This thread is filled with examples where people have been able to solve issues with review required by taking proactive action and then getting PPR.

Just curious, anyone here got the application processed within the 6-month timeline? I am about to hit the 6-month mark by end of this month.

It can happen, applications can be finalised pretty quickly from I read here .. unless you are under review.

But a question regarding rejections, my application was approved two months ago in January but I am still waiting for the PPR. Are there cases where a file is rejected even after full approval or can I relax a bit .. they have been sitting on it for two months I don't get it.

I called IRCC this morning. Same as I get from the GCMS notes in December... They have not touched my file since November...
Eligibility RR, criminality and background have not started yet.

As per GCMS notes when did your file actually moved to Montreal?

September, after the MEP
Then it's quite strange. May be order a fresh set of GCMS notes if previous are a few months old. Sometimes if the file is transferred late to Montreal it could be processed with later AORs. For example if someone had Aug 2019 AOR but file moved to Montreal in Feb 2020, chances are they will pick the file with other Feb 2020 files.

Montreal is slow but in the past we have observed it is relatively more sequential in processing applications compared to other VOs. I have not tracked PPR by AOR date for a long time but this is based on experience of past and may have changed now.

Hi @cansha,

I called CIC on 7th and was informed that my eligibility is passed, criminality has passed and security is in progress. What does this entail? I had received a ghost update a day before my call to CIC and now the status has changed back to submitted from updated. When can expect PPR from you experience ?
