Can I, as the sponsor, link my paper application to the online account once my application has been received? Or does my husband have to do it?

We have certainly seen people who have been refused due to finances or asked for additional proof of jobs/savings or proof that a family member in Canada is willing and able to support you and your spouse. There is not an exact savings/income amount but you must prove that you can support your family without government help.
My only issue was obtaining a letter of employment so I could send in my application, it was taking too long to get the letter that's all
You should be able to get a letter of employment within a week or less. It is often best to submit all the information upfront because if you are asked to provide extra information there will be a significantly longer delay. I would make sure to add more information once you have been in full-time employment for at least 6 months.
Proof of willing to support is different from finances being a condition. If a sponsor forgets to sign the sponsorship forms (i.e. Agreement Undertaking) properly of course they will ask for those to be signed. This has nothing to do with having a job. If a sponsor doesn't have a job they can simply say they are a student or don't have a job and this shouldn't change the outcome of an application. I also doubt an officer will care even if asked (which I doubt they have). It could be part of a standard template that they may send but it has no bearing on outcome of an application.
There is NO proof or anything financial needed. Period.
Her case is a spousal sponsorship. This is not parents or grand parents sponsorship.
Can you explain a bit more about these cases that you came across and that *failed* based on finances as there is no good reason for any officer to refuse. Also, please reference anything you can link contrary to what I said from the rules defined by CIC. People are asked for *history* reasons if they are ever asked for jobs because there is a need for security check. Otherwise, it's a known fact that spousal sponsorship is not pre-conditioned on finances.
I have seen many ATIP notes that the officer clearly states they looked at finances and sponsor didn't meet LICO or even was a student but since it is not a condition they have waived it. If an officer makes that mistake it should be easily reversed by court or by explanation to CIC.

Don’t have hours to go through all the posts but I have been on this forum long enough to have run into cases where couples have been questioned about their ability to support themselves without government help and although there is no income requirement there is certainly proof needed that you can support you family without government help. I remember one case where a young woman was working part-time for minimum wage and her husband was coming without much savings and without tons of skills. She was asked to for more concrete proof of how they would support themselves. Don’t believe we ever heard what happened to the case. Most who are questioned have a family member who agrees to support the couple financially and provides proof that are financially able to support the couple and often include that they will allow the couple to live with them for free until they are able to both (or one of them) find employment. Also cases where one or both members of the couple are receiving disability and the couple is questioned on how they will support themselves. There is no need to prove that you have a job but you have to show that you have savings, that the sponsored spouse has savings to support the family or already has employment lined up. The last thing Canada wants to do is approve a couple who arrives and claims welfare right away. Will be sure to post examples and hope others will to when they come across them.

1. When she should do her biometrics and can it be done in Kabul? Is there a designated Service Canada offices in Kabul?
2. When she should do her medical examination?

Medical should be done in kabul biometrics india or pak she will hv a choice but first u need to apply and u will get requests for medical and biometrics from immigration once they start processing ur application

Thank you for your reply. I have another question does it matter where she dose it India or Pakistan? I heard that it is better to do it in India because in Pakistan it might be delayed? Is this true?

I have not applied yet. just wondering if we should wait until I send her application before we books her Bometric appointment at Visa Application Centre in India or we should just wait for the Immigration office to send us a letter before booking it (because once we have the letter we have 30day to complete Biometric).
