Hello Everyone,
I saw your post couple days ago about someone’s experience in 2017, congratulations on your PR but I can’t find your username so I’ll just start a thread. I just had few questions if you all can clear them up. Me and my family are refugee claimants, we came here in Canada in July 2019. We hired a lawyer via legal aid and submitted our Basis of claim within 15 days. The lawyer said our hearing will be within 22 months (2 years). So I am wondering, when our hearing comes, is it decided on the spot that we are granted as convention refugee? Or does it take some time after our hearing to get the results? Can anyone tell me from their experience that when did you come to Canada as refugee claimant, how long did it take for your hearing to come by and how long did you wait for the hearing results and then what was the process after that? I would greatly appreciate any feedback to my questions. Thank you.
