It's all on the CIC site: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/index.asp

But...

(Please note that this info does not apply to the Federal Skilled Trades Program)

1) Determine your eligibility by doing this CIC quiz http://www.cic.gc.ca/ctc-vac/ee-start.asp

2) Get your language test(s) done. You must get at least CLB 7 in each of the four sections for the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Provincial Nomination Program (PNP) or Canadian Experience Class (CEC) streams. But getting CLB 10 gives you maximum points for language.

How does CLB match back to the language tests? That info is here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/language/charts.asp

3) Get your qualifications assessed by doing an Education Credential Assessment. Details here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/assessment.asp

4) Determine the code that best applies to you on the National Occupation Classification (NOC) list http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/noc.asp

The occupation must be NOC 0, A, or B for FSW or CEC.

5) When you have those in hand you create your express entry profile. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/profile.asp and register for the Job Bank http://www.jobbank.gc.ca/home-eng.do?lang=eng

You'll be given points based on your age, education, number of years work experience, and language skills. The points system is detailed here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/grid-crs.asp

You'll be in a pool with thousands of other applicants http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/pool.asp

Of course, the more points you have the better. The max is 1200, with 600 of those points coming from your ability to snag a PNP or a job offer with a very hard to get Labour Market Impact Assessment http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/employers/lmo-basics.asp

For CEC applicants, the max is 600 but someone who has no work experience in Canada who is only eligible for FSW can only get up to 520 points.

6) Finally, wait for your invitation to apply (ITA). But in the interim you will need to do the following:

a) Have your application fee (C$550 each for principal applicant and spouse) and right of permanent resident fee (C$490 each for principal applicant and spouse) ready
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/fees.asp

b) Identify how you will provide proof of funds http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp

c) check out what is required for the police certificates http://www.cic.gc.ca/English/information/security/police-cert/index.asp

d) find out how long it takes to get a date for the medical exam. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/medexams-perm.asp

e) contact previous and current employers about them providing job letters. You must have at least 12 months of full-time, or an equal amount in part-time, skilled work experience. Full-time work means at least 30 hours of paid work per week. Work experience while you were a full-time student does not count.

f) research cities in the province(s) where you want to live.
What makes you eligible for the express entry program? I have done that quiz twice and both of the times they tell me that I'm not eligible, both of the times I have been so confident and sure that I would get accepted, I have a very advance English level I finished my high school I have over 10 years of experience in what I do, I have a wife and daughter I really don't know what I'm missing? Please help.

What I don’t understand is, if you have 67+ points, are you guaranteed a visa? If not, how many points do you need and how do you find out? Also, is 1 year working experience enough with only a bachelor’s degree (or do I need 2 years)? How do they check if my bachelor’s degree (from Sweden) is equal to a Canadian one?

Hi all,

My Sister is working fulltime at Walmart and she injured herself at the workplace. She had already completed 18 months at Walmart but now she can not go to work for about two-three months and her work permit expires in Sept. 2020. When the incident happened she was waiting for her two years to complete so she can apply for permanent residence as her CRS is staying at around 445 with one year experience.

My main question is that will these three months period count under her work experience or not??

Any help/suggestions will be highly appreciated.
if she would be paid for those three months then yes else no.

Hello everybody! I need your help!

I have tried to read and find information on my own but the scenarios are very different from person to person!
So I had a PGWP for 3 years and it expired in September 2019 a few days before it expired I already applied for my PR and Bridge Visa. So my questions are

1. I want to go back to Israel in December, can I leave the country and come back? As far as I know we don’t need a visitor visa in order to come here. If so do I need any other documents in order to enter Canada ?

2. Regarding my msp so it expired with my work permit. How can I get medical care?
Please help me!

About this step, if someone staying inside canada and works for that small company for 12 months (fulltime) will it work? Does it necessary that the employer has to be a big company or some specific revenue?

Hello all,

I would be glad to have your advice regarding my questions below:

My husband got his PR last year before we got married, although he is still working in Nigeria but travelled only once this year to canada.

I applied for express entry and i'm expecting to receive my ITA in the coming draw, 470. I hope it's not an offense for me to have applied for express entry as my husband is obviously not accompanying me since he already has his PR? My worry is that i do not want to be rejected on the basis that he should have filed a spousal sponsorship for me which i think might be impossible since he is not fully based in canada for now.

Secondly, My husband is gifting me about 20,000CAD as proof of fund, which has already been transferred to my account. We have gotten a lawyer to prepare a gift deed and have it notarized. However, my worry is that the lawyer requested that my husband's residential address must be specified in the gift deed document. My question is, should he put his Nigerian address (which is where he currently stays due to work) or indicate his canadian address (A relative's place where he stays whenever he lands in canada)?

Thirdly, in my name change affidavit document and gift deed, my name was stated as AMAKA JOY CHIZURA while my passport and express entry profile is CHIZURA AMAKA JOY . will this be an issue?

Lastly, my address has just been changed from 27 box street to 28 box street and some of my documents reflect these addresses. will this be an issue?

Thank you as i look forward to your kind response.

Can any one suggest

When I check my CRS score in CIC.GC.CA it shows 472, will it be the same score if I create profile in Express Entry Program??

Will there be any difference in score?

Hi all,
I have a question pls help me if you know
my husband worked 1570 hours in 10 months. we were invited to apply for PR in Sept 4 but because of some changes had to decline it:(. now he is not working any more is doing his PhD, do you think this cases any problem? are we going to be invited again?
What changes prevented you from applying for Canadian PR? I believe as long as you are legally studying and working in the country why then not be invited in the future for the application nex time?

thank you.
