Hi,
I and my wife are Canada Permanent Residents. We are expecting our child in November, and she is currently in India with her Parents (I dropped her in India in June). I am doing my groundwork before I create a sponsorship application for the child after birth.
I would like to know - as the application process is paper-based, should my wife complete the application IMM 1344 as co-signer or can I leave the co-signer field as "no" - in which case she does not have to fill any details.
Another question - I will be traveling to India, and plan to stay there for a couple of months and return after that. I will not be vacating my residence in Canada.
In this case, could I go ahead with the application process immediately after the child gets the birth certificate and passport and send the completed application forms from India, but with the address in the forms as the Canadian address or will there be any problem?
Thank you!
