Hi!

I have a few questions about the AIPP. Here is my situation. I am under Post Graduate Work Permit, and it will expire on July 2019. I am planning to apply under AIPP since my employer is already a designate and they are willing to help me through the process. I am a Certified CCA in Nova Scotia. I just did my IELTS and my overall score is 7.5.

My question is, is endorsement letter the same as nomination of the province? And how many months will the endorsement letter decision be?

Correct me if I'm wrong but AIPP is employer driven right? So all the process will be done by my employer. I am just kinda lost, because I don't know where to start or how to start my application. :(

Also, can I extend my PGWP? Or at least apply for an open work permit before it expires? Or should I apply for a closed work permit? This makes my situation even more complex because I have a common law spouse who is an international student. We have declared ourselves common because we were living together since Dec 2017.

And last but not the least, which stream is better? Provincial Nominee Program or the AIPP?

Its been over 2 months that i am waiting for the endorsement letter. Are there any specific reasons for the delay in issuing endorsement letter or it is normal?

Here's how AIPP works:
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/atlantic-immigration-pilot.html

1. Endorsement is different from provincial nomination as it has way less requirements and is more or less a letter of support from the province.
2. You can certainly apply for a work permit extension under AIPP, but it will be closed and tied to the employer.
3. AIPP is way faster than PNP. You can expect your PR to be processed in like 3 months if you provide all the correct paper work however, CIC's average processing time is 6 months.
4. Endorsement from NS would take anywhere between 2 weeks-3 months. The whole process should not be longer than 6-8 months. Work permit can be applied once you get the endorsement letter and takes 3 weeks to process at CPC on an average if all paper work is correct.
5. Not sure what you are trying to establish through your common law relationship but if you want you can apply together for PR with you as principal applicant. Your common law partner can only get an open work permit if your job is in NOC 0, A or B category. Also, you must have lived together for 12 months and have paperwork to prove your relationship.

Good luck!
Hi Andy.keeling,

My employer from New Brunswick will be applying my PR app thru AIPP. Im waiting for endorsement approval which I sent to New Brunswick govt last August 20,2019 but until now no update yet. Im currently working and living here in Qatar, the situation here is not that good so anytime soon they will no longer need my service but i dont know when it is. All my current address i put in the PR forms were my address here in Qatar, what if all my documents were submitted to IRCC then in the midst of the processing I returned back to the Philippines. How will I notify or inform IRCC about this? Is there any effect on the duration of processing approval of my pr app?

Thanks :)

Hi Iqbaal,

Have received your endorsement.

If yes, which province did you applied to.

I am waiting for my endorsement since August 23.
