I would like to ask, what is the minimum band require for IELTS for this self employed route? I know the minimum for Express entry is 8777. Please what is the minimum for this self employed route?

Also, does @Ozeei need to keep writing IELTS to get band 7 in writing even though he’s applying as a self employed person and not the usual Express Entry

Someone please explain as I’m writing IELTS In few weeks

Thanks to each and everyone for your contribution on this forum. Congratulations @Runroad

Hi Beelin,

I haven't seen any black and white requirements for IELTS results but the exam results will be one of the immigration officers' considerations. Please correct me if I'm wrong!

For Schedule 6A - Real Property

Did you obtain a formal property valuation report conducted by a surveyor, or did you provide an estimate on its current market value based on, e.g., recent similar transactions in the market?

Many thanks!

Hi all,

Just did my soft landing today.

They did ask for POF - but this is after I declared I did not bring in more than $10,000 Canadian dollars. My POF is in an account in Singapore, which could be withdrawn in Canada via ATM but at the actual point of declaration we only had like $2000 in cash. That was why I decided to not check YES. I didn’t get into trouble, and the CBSA people were so nice and funny - I should write a commendation for them tomorrow or something. I showed them my bank balance statement that showed that I had $xxxxx in my Singapore account. That’s was it.

They didn’t check any of my other documents such as degrees or work evidences. They just needed my COPR, passports, goods accompanying and goods to follow forms.

So be aware of what you declare, if unsure, declare YES to save your ass. You won’t be in trouble unless you have not met an actual or important requirement or prerequisite. And also, different events may happen to different people. I did my processing in Ottawa.

The checking in kiosk failed for us so we just went to the passport stamp and check, then collect our luggages, then to immigration for an hour’s queue to verify COPR, then to submit the GA and GTF forms. All were done pretty fast.

Cheers everyone I hope God brings you all here too. I was destined to live a poor and meaningless life but somehow I have escaped, and am grateful to Canada for giving me and my family another chance to succeed again.

Very happy for you @Runroad ! Wish you all the best!

Hello all, congratulations to everyone who’ve gotten their PPR. I wish us well. How do I prove that I have been making a living for myself and family as a self employed person (interior designer)? Am I supposed to have a huge account balance? The job is not really full time, I’m applying as the PA. But my husband has been the major financial support and his NOC is not in the required NOC. Please I need help.

Hope these links help you. I advise people who do not meet the scores required to gain points to even send them in, rather than not sending anything.

Hi as long as you can prove that you have done this business and made money from it you should be fine I guess... There's no minimum capital requirement for this stream. Most important thing is to prove your experience (show invoices, client references, tax cards etc) and demonstrate that you are willing to be self-employed in Canada (entirely up to you).

These are just my thoughts, no one here is a visa officer who can say for sure but I'm guessing from other people's experiences

Interview Requested: Self Employed Persons

Hi, I applied last year. Without any further document request, I was notified to attend an Interview.
They sent a list of documents which I'll have to carry. I didn't see any specific document request to carry with me in context of my case.
Had anyone received an Interview before and fulfilled all the doubts of officer and got positive result?
If you have any suggestions, please share.. thank you!

Hello Everyone. I’m new here. Thank you for this forum. I have read thru and it’s very informative.

I’m about to start my own journey. Will be writing IELTs next month, thereafter, I’ll submit my application.

I am a fashion designer with 5years experience but my business has been registered for 3years.
Hope to have a good ride.

That is an interesting development. Though they do mention you may be called for an interview, I've never come across anyone who went in for one. Best to get all your documentation together as best as you can and be ready for any questions they may ask. What's your NOC btw?
