"they enjoyed it but no intention of staying longer"... Forgive me for asking, but then why apply for PR?
Simply because I can and I have the ability to do so. lol

Because I am their son and I want to sponsor them so that I can take care of them when they are older. They may not want to live here now but in 5 or 10 years they may change their mind. Who knows! :)

That is thoughtful but lot of my friend's parents lost their PR status due to residency rules .They landed and go back after 3 months

still don't understand why people worry a lot. If your documents are genuine and legit, there's nothing to worry about. Just live your life. CIC is already doing a great job. I'll suggest you come back or check the status once a week or even every other week so you won't be too haunted by the process.

Those submitted in June, did anyone of you get AOR? I am still waiting to hear back from CIC. Meanwhile, it seems like my parents are not interested in relocating to Canada as

their parents are still alive and they need to remain in their home country to take care of them. I am now struggling with how to keep their minimum residency once they get PR status.

Just a curious thought, what would you do to help your parents integrate in this new society, my parents are over 60 years old so working is not an option, they have already worked their whole life and have enough savings to support themselves for the next 50 years. My parents have many times visited Vancouver (3 months each time), they enjoyed it but no intention of staying longer.
I started a thread to discuss this:

Sure, it is difficult to understand that it doesn't depend on genuine documents or eligibility problems. Many started the process years ago and have a lot of information that even being eligible with genuine documents it is not guaranteed that one day depending on elections or any other change the program can be paused and it can take years to bring parents to Canada. Everybody's case is different, and yes for many sponsors it is very stressful. So, not judge without knowing why people are stressful worrying a lot and asking so many questions. If it works for you check once a month, but it maybe doesn't work for others ;)

Thanks for displaying empathy for the anxious ones among us. I've actually lost sleep over this process.
