AOR Received.
22-12-2018
Hello guys,
I am writing this to who it may concern about my situation. I had to hire a lawyer from Canada as I had some complications in my file. My lawyer applied for the ITA and we got our ITA by November 2018. I had score of 486. Then my lawyer submitted my application in the end of December. Received my first AOR letter on 29th december 2018. Due to change in my marital status CIC issued me a new AOR letter on 15th May 2019 (according to my lawyer). My IELTS expired on June 24th 2019, as per my Lawyer, CIC is asking for another IELTS. But they haven't made any official request on that.
I am so confused with my lawyer from the beginning. Her answers are so vague, they are not clear and proper for me.
She didnt gave me the confirmation email for the payment. Then she said
my new AOR letter will be issued soon. Now she is asking for my IELTS again without getting any official request from CIC.
As per my concern once ITA and AOR LETTER is issued documents expiration is not important. Correct me if I am wrong.
There is a contract between me and my lawyer, if I try to contact CIC by myself for the update will there be any problem.I am thinking of emailing CIC by myself and get an update from them. Please advice me on this.

Thanks
Prianka
IELTS results and conditions such as age gets locked once the AOR. Sometimes your consultant might want you to do it to be on the safe side.

This is another case of consultants ruining an application.Change in family composition require you to inform IRCC, but they don’t issue a new AOR. Also, IELTS score is locked once application is submitted so there is no question of requesting another test score. If they did request, your lawyer should be able to provide you with a copy of request letter.

Few questions:

Did your consultant ask you for another fee payment at the time you reported change in marital status?

Do you have a copy of the new AOR?

You can contact directly using webform using the details on your first AOR. My gut feeling is your lawyer is holding information from you which may include having application refused or cancelled during the process.
Once you get a response and if your application is still in process, don’t waste a single minute in removing your lawyer. This is also done using a webform and Use of representative form.

No fees was asked for on the change of my marital status.
So shall I email CIC using webform?
Will that be count as bridging my contract with my lawyer?

They dont issues a 2nd Aor unless your application is rejected or withdrawn. This might have happened because a problem at your lawyers end and i feel that they are trying to cover it up.. but this is only my guess since IRCC is so unpredictable these days.

Contact your lawyer immediately and ask for IRCC request letter for ielts. I dont see a point for your lawyer to hide it from you unless it is because their mistake.

Better to clarify it ASAP.

YES. you can report changes such as change in marital status without much trouble. Only thing is that IRCC will review your eligibility again to confirm its valid and might ask you to submit some additional documents. It will extend the timeline, but in my experience i have never heard them issuing a 2nd aor. Further i find your lawyers intentions and behavior bit shady.

Just got a reply for email to the MP.
"Eligibility and criminality passed.
Security checks are in progress since May 22, 2019. They cannot be expedited and timelines are not available."

This means security screening right?
I wasn't asked for CV though.
Alright, Did a bit of research. apparently not every security check is similar. and the super lengthy part only comes into play when they ask CSIS to do a check.
Still kind of frustrated though. As I was thoroughly checked when I applied for my student visa, where I gave my bio-metric info too. After that I've been living in Canada under their watch for four years and they still can't trust me as much as the people who've never set foot in Canada and their security check takes one day.
Hello, I'm suspecting security screening in my case. How can we know if they asked CSIS to do the check? Does it show in the gcms notes?

I called IRCC yesterday, after noticing a ghost update on August 5. The agent confirmed that Eligibility is passed, which is a big relief since it was marked "Review Required" for POF (updated POF was never requested from me though). Another thing she mentioned is that the Security check has been initiated and is now in progress. Then I asked her if she can give me more details on the status of the Security and when to expect it to be completed, so she asked me to hold on for a few minutes on the line, so she opens my file and checks for more details. After a few minutes, she repeated the same information, and added that they are doing some "additional security verifications" and she cannot provide a completion date, but everything seems on track. The "additional verifications" got me worried here...is it the Security Screening? Can i know it from the gcms notes? Experts your opinion please. @USProgrammer @SithLord @whiterabbit @legalfalcon

My timeline as of now:
AOR: December 29, 2018
Medicals passed & biometrics request: February 11, 2019
Long silence
Ordered GCMS notes on May 3, Received on June 11
Found out the Eligibility is marked “Review required” for POF since March (not stating the issue with POF, so most probably for currency conversion reason).
ADR: July 16. They requested spouse's divorce certificate, which I provided on July 17.
Ghost update: August 5. After calling IRCC 3 days later, found out that Eligibility was passed and Security initiated (agent mentioned that Security is undergoing “additional verifications”).
Current status: waiting for the completion of Security and hoping not to fall under extensive SS.

Dear Members,

After 250 days of AOR I have received request from CIC to submit additional documents.

The documents are –

“In order for us to continue the processing of your application, we require the following documents:

Ø The enclosed Supplementary Information Request for Students form

Ø CV/Resume: Please provide a copy of your resume (CV), a document containing a brief description of your education, qualifications and experience

Ø Schedule A: A separate and newly completed Schedule A Background Declaration form (IMM 5669) bearing an original signature. Please note that you must provide details since the age of 18 or the past 10 years. Be sure to not leave any gaps. If a section does not apply to you, please enter "none" as per the instructions provided on the form.”

I need to clear some confusions regarding 1st 2 points –

1. I applied for PR, why I am told to submit “Supplementary Information Request for Students form”

The form is like this –

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION REQUEST FOR STUDENTS

File Number:

Name and Surname:

1- Intended, current or past field(s) of study.

2- Proposed, current or past thesis.

3- Intended, current or past supervisor(s).

4- Supervisor(s) for previous studies

5- List of publication(s) and research papers

6- Source(s) of funding for studies.

7- Upon return to your country, what employment plans do you have in place? At which company or organisation and in what field of work?

Name of company :

Duties:

Name of supervisor(s) :

What shall I write in this form, just “Not Applicable” or should I fill up my Hons/Masters study info? I never wrote any thesis. I just had to write an internship report for completion of my MBA. Shall I put these under past thesis?

2. The CV. I just write it detailing my present and past job responsibilities in line with the reference letter I submitted previously on a white paper and sign it, will it suffice?

Dear members, please give me some well-thought advice, my entire life depends on it. Thanks in Advance.

Dont know what to tell you, but just to ask, is there inconsistency with what you submitted to IRCC regarding your education and experience, and another source, such as Linkedin? Maybe they are seeing inconsistent information somewhere and are looking for information from you to set the record straight. And they do trawl social media to make comparisons/validate submissions.

Otherwise, go ahead and fill the form as accurately as you can, and mention all your reservations in a supplementary letter of explanation (LOE)

Good luck

I agree. @Priyazara4u2, the laywer is not helping you. Get rid of them and take control of your file. In the meantime, follow peoples instructions on how to call IRCC and how to write to MP Goodale, and also order your GCMS notes now to arrive in 1 month. Get up to date on your file using these 3 methods and take back control.

Most likely this is an indication that your first application is refused or cancelled and your lawyer has applied again.
Please check if application number is different on both AORs.
As suggested by all other members, please also get information on your files and take control of your application. You have a very high CRS to qualify for PR status. All the best.
