When i went for the oath in mississauga, they said they did 17000 oaths in 3 months. There is that big of a backlog. So like they say... its not you. Its just they are too busy. But i think you all will be done before october so you can vote.

After 16 Month from March 2018 still waiting for Oath invitation. I passed the test on 16 of April.
They called one of my employer.
I called four times to check my status I asked IRCC webform three times and I requested the details of my file one time on July 2019.
I want to know why do they do that with people?

Sharing my story here so others can learn from it too. Maybe, there's something wrong with your application that's why there's a delay

After many years, I am almost done with my struggle to get my citizenship LOL

August 2010 - Arrived here on a caregiver visa..
Sept 2011, I lost my status and restored it in January 2012
Became PR in August 2014.. It was delayed for 3 months because I was waiting for my police clearance from the 2 countries where I worked for a few years..

My citizenship timeline is:
I am a single applicant since my husband and daughter are already Canadian citizens.
March 26 2018 - Passed my application
March 29 2018 - AOR
May 17 2018 - In Process
July 2018 - I received a letter that there will be a delay on my application
April 16, 2019 - I went to our MP (Member of Parliament) and asked assistance why my application was delayed. I assumed that it was my last name. I have been using 4 different names coz the country where I came from have different rules in using the middle name.. Then I got married when I was a PR and been using my husband's last name and my middle name (became too complicated) that I couldn't fix it without going and paying the lawyer

Seems like going to our MP about my application really helped.

May 3, 2019 - CIC mailed me a letter asking me about the right name to be used. Or submit a change of name from the province. Or they can just process using my PR name (which was wrong in the first place because of my country and Canada's rules). I went with using the PR name and thought of just fixing it after citizenship is approved

June 14, 2019 - I received an email for my test
July 10, 2019 - I took the test in Surrey BC.. Got 20/20 (super easy) - Guess what, during the interview, I was told that the explanation I submitted about my name when I first submitted my application in March 2018 was actually accepted and my name has been changed since then.

July 11, 2019 - Decision made

Today, August 8, 2019 - I received the schedule of my oath

SEPTEMBER 5, 2019 - OATH TAKING IN VANCOUVER BC

OH MY GOD! I THINK I AM GOING TO BE BAWLING IN TEARS! THIS HAS BEEN A LONG WAIT FOR ME.. AFTER 9 YEARS, AND 20 DAYS, I AM GOING TO BE A CANADIAN CITIZENNNNN!!!

(Sorry for the long story!) I am just sooo happy!!!

Hi Guys!

Hope you all doing great!

Can someone please tell me how is the interview looks like after the test? how long is it? what do they ask usually? are they going through all your exit and entries and your travel history?

I'm expecting to receive my test invite soon, just wanted to be prepared.

Many thanks and good luck to all of you!!
