It's getting better and faster than before, I believe it is taking 3-6 weeks now
actually @umarr.cole received his interview letter a while ago from Vancouver office and he got DM by the end of May so you might get lucky too and receive it soon

Our background checks started nearly at the same time too, I hope we get our DMs really soon
For another comparison, my husband's background check started March 11.

I have seen also some Quebec applicants recently receiving updates too so stay hopeful Quebec applicants!
Email the office and tell em you have a family emergency if they can schedule an interview appointment for you before you leave the country. That’s what I did, I guess that’s why I got my in three weeks.It's getting better and faster than before, I believe it is taking 3-6 weeks now
