hi, quick question for those who are experienced. I have concerns regarding my reference letter that I have submitted for a company that I worked from 2015 to 2017.

The reference letter that was created was used by my requested format of job and responsibilities back then so it dates from 2017 only.

However, the template that they have used is a company's word letter pad but not a paper-based letter pad and it's digitally signed by the HR and was submitted to me in a pdf along with other documents.

Will it be a concern. I have also attached an offer letter, pay stubs, tax documents to confirm my employment.

Are there any surprises that I should be prepared for?

I did something crazy, wrote to Prime Minister Trudeau to expedite my PR application (my desperation level!!!), their office has forwarded my request to Ahmed Hussen, the concerned minister and below is the reply I have received from their office :p

The Office of the Prime Minister has kindly forwarded to the Honourable Ahmed Hussen, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, a copy of your correspondence of May 29, 2019, regarding your application for permanent residence. I have been asked to respond to your concerns.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) understands that those who have submitted their application look forward to a decision being rendered within a reasonable time period after applying. IRCC makes every effort to manage the applications received in the most efficient and effective way. However, the many steps involved in processing an application, coupled with the volume of applications, sometimes make it difficult to conclude cases in as timely a manner as the Department or the client would like.

Maintaining the integrity of Canada’s immigration program is a priority of the Government of Canada. Individuals who want to live permanently in Canada must meet certain requirements, which include eligibility requirements and medical, criminality, and security clearances. These requirements exist to protect the interests and safety of Canadians. The onus rests on the applicants to prove that they have met the requirements for entry to Canada or that admission would not be contrary to legislative requirements.

IRCC conducts background checks by working together with partner agencies, such as the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the Canadian Security Intelligence Service, the Canada Border Services Agency, medical authorities, and agencies of foreign governments. Background screening processes are non-discriminatory and universal in their application. Any delays that may occur as IRCC’s partner agencies conduct the background checks are something over which the Department has no control. In addition, background and medical examination results are usually valid for a 12-month period. Should background or medical clearances expire during the application process, applicants are required to update their results.

While requests for expedited processing are understandable, applications are, in general, only expedited in extraordinary cases with compelling circumstances. Applicants should direct any information or documentation in support of such a request to the processing office, or contact IRCC through existing service channels.

Please note that the current processing time for this type of application is approximately 6 months. Therefore, it appears that this application is proceeding normally with no unexpected or unwarranted delays. I would, however, like to clarify that the processing times listed on IRCC’s Website are published to give applicants a general idea of how long an application process may take. These times are estimates based on how long the Department expects most applications to take under normal circumstances if they apply today. Applicants can view the status of their application on the Department’s Website.

Thank you for taking the time to write. I trust that this information is helpful to you.
