There is no need for the DL to open the joint bank account. You can provide your PR card and bank statement (for address proof) and just your wife's passport. Apart from this, you can also show the following as proof of cohabitation:
  1. A letter from Bank confirming a Joint Account.
  2. Latest six months bank statement - Joint and individual, Canada or/and Overseas account.
  3. Copy of Rent Agreement - Spouse's name endorsed
  4. Mobile account showing two mobile connections in both your names
  5. Any receipts( current or previous ) of money transfer to each other's account before or after marriage.

Some provinces allow you to get a provincial ID card. It looks the same as a driver's licence. You would obtain it from the same place as you would a driver's license. This would give her a proof of address and also a government photo ID to open bank accounts etc.

Today marks 111 days of my OWP App. I dont know if i should make a call tomorrow or wait until May 25 which makes it look like exactly 4 months or even more coz February has 28 days only. I sent my app Jan 25th. Until now they havent reviewed my eligibility.

Sigh.. 4 months was like 4 years at home without work

I want to wait until tuesday since its a long weekend
Makes sense. They are probably a bit lazy because of the weekend Il wait until 25th then. We've manage to wait four months so i guess a week more is not bad haha. I know some more here who has same timeline with us. If you are reading please share updates of your owp. Those who sent theirs in Jan 25th!

Also, anyone knows that can I go do my fingerprint before they ask for it? So that it saves their time? My background check is currently being processed, they asked for police certificate and i already got one and will submit shortly. Thinking submit my finger print upfront as well. Thanks.

From my observations on this forum, when fingerprints were requested, 99% of the time it was the same day or a day after background check started. So if yours started I would say it's safe to assume that they don't need it. And I believe it's actually based on a name check (ie a criminal has the same/similar name as you).

Hello!
I applied on January 23, 2019. I received an email 2 days ago asking for some documentation about my last job. I summited the required document today May 17, 2019.
On my CIC account i still have the same status on my background check "we will message you once we start"
I just want to ask who is or was in the same situation and how long does it take for them to reply back?

Thank you!
