Hi all,

I've taken the CELPIP exam recently and scored L12 W8 S9 R12. Unfortunately, that isn't good enough as I need a 9 in writing.

That being said, I did apply for a re-evaluation but I'm worried that the score wont change. What are your experiences with re-evaluation and how long did it take to get the results back (2-3 weeks is a wide range of time)?

Thanks!

I did mine a bit over a year ago. My score was raised from an 8 to a 10 in writing and they got back to me in exactly 2 weeks.

Considering your 12s in L and R, I think the chances of your W score coming up to at least a 9 are decent.

That’s comforting! Thank you.

Fingers crossed

How long did it take for them to get back to you with the updated results?
Also, how do they appear on you profile? Will the initial grades me there too?

2 weeks exactly. I think the physical mail came a few days after that. You'll only see the updated scores in your profile.

Hi, Need your suggestions for CELPIP- G. I'm taking the exam on 7th July. Your words are very precious to me. I need 9 in all. Please help me on this and how you prepared. Thanks in advance.

I got a level 12 in all sections except for writing, which I was given a level 9 in. I have an English degree, and I'm from England, so this random lower mark in writing made no sense at all. After paying for a re-mark on my writing and waiting the 2 weeks, they came back to me with the same score. I tried appealing their decision and asked for evidence of how they had marked/re-marked my writing, as I felt that it was better than some of the examples on their test materials that scored higher than a 9, they declined to provide me with any further information. They wouldn't even provide me with a transcript of my own test answers.

My immigration lawyers are telling me I've lost 3 points towards my PR because of this, and I'm livid at CELPIP, I now wouldn't recommend the exam to anyone, I'd go with IELTS if I were to do it all again. I think the CELPIP organization are just rip-off-merchants out to make as much money as possible, at the expense of people's lives. It's ridiculous how seemingly unregulated these cowboys are. #rantover

As Cifi mentions, CELPIP is ridiculously hard on the writing piece. I'm a native English speaker and I got 12/12/11/8 with the 8 in writing, had to redo the test and with weeks of prep I still only got up to a 9 on my writing.

Try using the below link to prepare, he is pretty clear and simple in explaining how to answer the sections.
