Hi Everyone,

Under my Spouse sponsorship application, I have submitted that I was already seperated with my previous and NOT divorced.

Now, I have received an email from the CIC asking to submit a divorce certificate.

I do not have a divorce certificate since the divorce is still not finalized at the Court.

Should I reply to the CIC to clarify this or they won't answer back? Or will this result in a refusal of my application?

Thank you

Was your previous relationship common law or were you actually married? If you were married, did you get married again while still married to someone else and have been therefore been sponsored as a spouse? Or have you been sponsored as common law?

If you were married before and have now been sponsored as a spouse (then we assume you re-married). Inorder to get married again you were required to have divorced your previouse spouse.
