April 2019 TRV Timeline!

Hi @21singh, @myra20sharma I have pretty similar timeline! I applied for my Mother's TRV (2nd application as first application got approved in 2017 but the passport expired in January 2019 so applying for another visa)

Application Submitted:- 15 April 2019 (Online)
Submission Confirmation:- 15 April 2019
Background status changed to "We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information." on 16 April 2019 and few hours later got Biometric request letter
Biometrics Request:- 16 April 2019
Biometrics Submitted:- 25 April 2019 (VFS Delhi)
Biometrics Updated on Account:- 25 April 2019

No Updates since then. No Biometric Validity letter, No emails. Anyone else in the same boat?

In most cases, it takes a couple of week from Biometrics to Passport Request!

Who got their biometrics confirmation in last week of April and or before, they will get their PPR soon ( Depending on officer) . I am thinking it can be today evening till Friday evening.

Biometrics done - Apr 24
Biometrics updated online - Apr 24
Online Account updated to Background in Progress and Eligibility in Review - Apr 29
Acknowledgment Received (In email)- Apr 29
Correspondence letter - May 06
PPR: May 06

My parents already visited the VFS office once in person to provide biometrics. Now as per PPR should they need to go again? is there a way to send via mail?

They have to go with the PPR letter print (from CIC account) and passports to VFS. Then they can take the courier service (after passport submission) at VFS only to get their passports back. I know about India VFS does that through bluedart couriers.

Isn't that absurd, mandating a second visit, where they have already visited once during Biometrics enrollment. With this new process of biometrics enrollment, they should have deposited passports the same instant.

I would have preferred the paper application in that case, which just requires one visit to VFS.

I agree & paper application is fast too. (At least in India )

Biometrics are mandatory, so that visit is for all. Passport request are for those, who's files are approved. So, not everyone who goes for biometrics is called to submit their passport.

Yes, paper file is also the option. Yes that is one visit, provided person gets biometrics done the same day. Some VFS, does not allow walk-in for biometrics and appointments are mandatory. That ways, again two visits.

Note - To skip a third visit, make sure to ask for the courier service at the VFS counter.
