I'm assuming in 2014 you applied for PR under one of the streams under express entry and she was in the application as spouse/common law. Is that right? If it was like that, then she was NOT being sponsored as a spouse, but she was your dependant in the application.

For she to be considered "sponsored as a spouse" you would have to be a PR/Citizen by yourself and THEN had sponsored her on a separate application in the family class.
Thanks for clarification. So in that case, my answer for that question in application will be "NO",

We applied through Canadian Experience Class at that time. So in financial form(IMM 5768), questions under no. 4 wouldn't apply to me as a co-signer?

Silly question, for all those boxes in that form, if there is none as previously undertaken should I leave it blank, put N/A or fill out with numbers, like "0" ?

In the financial evaluation form 5768, question 6 - it says enter number of other dependents and provide details on the back of this page. I entered the details in question 12. But do I also need to write something at the back of the page also?

That's right, unless you have signed an undertaker previously (for CEC you don't sign any undertakers for your family members), those should be 0.

I put zeroes on mine because
1) question 7 sums up the previous fields for you, so you can only put in numbers
2) I didn't want they to think I didn't read the questions by leaving them blank

I have a copy of his birth certificate but the section for his father is blank! He only knows his fathers name nothing more. I guess he wasn’t in the picture at all. I guess I should just click “unknown” and provide a copy of his birth certificate?

The only problem is that my father was previously sponsored by my mom which got denied and they are no longer together. I am just worried about clicking “unknown” when they have documents in the system where it states his fathers name on them.

I don’t know why this is a problem now when
Oh if you don't have his father's name in any records, that makes things easier. Just say unknown in the form and provide the document showing that no father's name was ever added. You can only rely on your father's memory and for the bureaucracy what counts is what's in the records not in memory.

As for previous application, you would have to provide this explanation as to why this one is saying the father is unknown (because you checked the documents and it was not there, even though your father does have a name and all).

Good Day,

I got email to apply for my parents immigration.

For my status in Canada documents, such as copy of my Passport, citizenship card, do I need to Notarize the photocopies before sending?

On form Imm5768, page 2. Where I should put following names and DOB?
1. My parents name and DOB : Is it understand I have to put my parents name/DOB in Section 9 , 3.B ii , is that correct?
2. My wife's name and DOB: Do I need to put this information on PAGE 2 of 4? if yes, where? She is co-signing my application
3. My wife's parents name and DOB: I co-signed her parents last year but we only have AOR, I am assuming there names and DOB will go in Section 10, second sets of rows, is this correct?
4. My kid name and DOB: I am assuming section 12 on PAGE 2 of 4 , is that correct?

Thanks in advance for your help!

They're probably hiding signatures by default on mobiles to save space. It's too bad it's not made more obvious and creates a different experience on different platforms.
for Google sheet the same problem, not everybody see my signature

Hello Everyone,

I received an invitation to sponsor my parents. My Query is I recently became a Canadian citizen and all my education degrees and Passport name have different father and mother name spellings as compared to their actual passports.

I have submitted the sponsorship based on their passport name only and even they already have visitor visa also with their same passport name but doesn't match with my passport parent name.

Now while applying for their application , How I am suppose to prove that these are one and the same name and no other person ? Do I need a lawyer or what will be the best way to proceed . Please suggest . thanks
Did you get an answer to this question, i feel like there are so many people with different names spellings on diff document and there is no clear consensus

I may be wrong, but I believe you need to amend all your documents so that their names are spelled the same everywhere. During the process of becoming a PR/Citizen you're urged to make sure all of your documents have the correct spelling.

I'm not familiar with how flexible the law is with spelling in romanizations of other scripts (hindi, japanese, etc). I think your best bet is talking to real lawyer on this matter.

You should read the how to apply guide, all of these questions are answered there or in the forms themselves.

Thank you!! Just an update, I called CIC this morning and was advise that I could put anydate if his birthdate is unknown but to provide and written explanation with the application package. Apparently a lot of people is having trouble with the form not validating because it won’t accept the (*). So I asked if I could put the date as 1900-01-01 and was told yes I could in order to get the form validated just provide a written explanation as to why.

Hello Guys,
I got ITA last week. I am planning to sponsor my mom and dad. I am bit confused about following:
- My passport has father's and mother's name without their Last Name, but my parents got new passport recently which includes Last name on their respective passports. To prove the relationship with me do they just need to just have affidavit saying that both person are same on my passport and their passport?
Hey what did you end up doing, i also need help.
