I am sponsoring my mom and dad. My husband is co-signing. On the Generic Application form should it be 4 for the question below? or 2 (my dad and mom)

How many family members, including you, are in this application

To answer your question - 2.

Let's discuss Question 3 in Generic Application IMM 0008 below:

How many family members, including you, are
in this application (see instructions guide)?

The "YOU" part is what confuses most of the people because IRCC is actually talking to the Principal Applicant NOT you as the Sponsor. Because in reality, the Principal applicant should be filling this out not you as the Sponsor, but 99% of the time, Sponsors fill out the form on behalf of the Principal Applicant.

The Generic Application IMM 0008 has a javascript checker (VALIDATE button). Once you hit Validate, it'll check the person listed in Personal details (1) - PRINCIPAL Applicant and it will check if you have a DEPENDENT. So in your case, if you put 4, it will cause an ERROR once you hit Validate as it only calculates the principal + dependent.

So the correct answer is 2 - it will count only your Mom and Dad.

Hope this helps. :)

Is PCC is require to submit with the forms??

I am copying and pasting the guideline here:

Police Certificates
Police certificates for parents and grandparents applications are not required at the time you submit your complete application. Police certificates will be requested by the processing office for the person being sponsored and each family member 18 or older (who are not already Canadian citizens or permanent residents) later in the application process.

See how to get a police certificate for up-to-date information about obtaining a police certificate from any country.

Seems everyone got invite ?

Hi
I know a few of us made the family size error in the interest form submitted in January. I know we can correct this by providing a letter and proof. Has anyone contacted CIC on what they would consider proof? my immediate family is 4 and planning to sponsor 2 parents. Total size should have been 6 and not 8 as indicated on my "interest to sponsor" form. Other than CRA information that has my kids/spouse on it I'm not sure how else to show proof. Thanks

Hey, what kind of document you will include as a proof?

i received the invitation email at 0900 EST, Apr. 26th. Good luck everyone!

I second that! I never said NO, I am owning up to my mistake, but those "seniors" are exaggerating. I feel bad for even asking here and pissing everyone off, but HEY! If somebody's actions and words can affect your emotions, you probably aren't living life to its fullest. That's my advice to y'all.
Don't worry mate. Just chill and have a beer. Shit happens and you are good you owned it. You don't need to apologize too much and look down yourself among this so called your SENIORS. There's no senior junior here. This thread is for getting any help required for PGP application and not to serve senior juniors.

Just write an explanatory letter stating your honest mistake and explaining why you wrote that number on the EOI: because the website said it, if you can try to find in one of their old tweets if someone ever asked this question and what answer they gave that’s also proof for the confusion

I will print-out this page and included in my application just to explain for the mistake on family.

I have query below:
My mother name in her passport: Kantaben Patel
In the Interest to sponsor form: Kantaben Patel
But in my birth certificate (sponsor birth certificate that has to attached), mother name is: Kanta Patel

I am wondering would CIC allow above discrepancy? If not, what other documents that I need to attached to prove that its same person (Kantaben Patel and Kanta Patel)

I have posted this earlier wondering any suggestions \ thought process?

I have the same problem, i am adding an affidavit from my mom that these two names belong to her. I hope it would be suffice.

I made same mistake, I think it shouldn't be big deal, just write a letter to explain. I found lots of people made same mistake.

It is a big deal because in the email for invitation PDF document, they have clearly said that info in the application should match with the interest to sponsor form.

Does somebody have an idea if there is an actual format to send letter of explanation.

We submitted the PR Card copy when submitting EOI. but received citizenship in March and had to surrender PR card.
Will be submitting Canadian passport copy now. So what should be the format of letter?
