Lol, that's exactly what happens. An agent will pick up your app, check to make sure you're eligible, and then make a decision. This is why within (usually) a few hours a person's GCKey will go from checking eligibility to decision made.

Hang in there. Once an agent takes up the app, news comes fast.

That's why I wonder about the process I was out of status when I sent in PR and OWP December 14th. Status restored January 25th. Apparently my processing time started when I regained status.

An agent over the phone said I had a note on my OWP application February 28 saying something about it being in for "further evaluation".

So I don't know if my processing time started in January or December. One agent said 4 months from my original received date and another said when status was restored.

I think it's from restoration date. A person in my October group had to restore their status, so their OWP was approved a bit later than everyone else's. So more waiting but... the good news, of course, is that their status was restored and they eventually got OWP.

Yes I figured. I only hope it's a similar timeline. I guess hope for the best but expect 4 months.

Do you have any idea how mitch longer they waited?

I'm not sure. I do remember they were quite happy since OWP was approved earlier than expected.

Yup! 111 days to process those applications. That dec 9th was updated March 31st. So technically they are on applications received around dec 17th.

*edit*

What I dont get is why they dont update on GC key if they make progress on the app. Is it like 111 days and then bam its magically approved?
lol really? so the message has not been updated for 10 days!
well, we are on the 112th day today :D

I will just wait until next week, and then speak to an agent!

Okay, thanks for the confirmation! I wish I sent my restoration app by paper with my others apps..but of course the agent says "it's okay, they will see it in the system!"

Good to know someone went through it too.

Yes! If you look at processing times online it says "last update March 31st"

December 10 applicant here! Did and passed medical exams beginning of February and received the OWP on Feb 28, but no news after that :(

December 24 applicant here :-) We got SA and my AIP letter (GCkey). Background check started almost two weeks ago. My ECAS status still says in process (nothing about AIP). Few days ago passed and no updates on Ecas. Is this normal? Sponsor got approval email and update on ECAS.

CIC is Great!!! :-)

Wow congratulations! That’s very fast did you have to apply for owp as well ?

I called today! And what I was afraid of was true they mistakenly have thought my husband was out of status and did not process the owp!
We are so frustrated! They have made a mistake and we have to pay for it.
The agent said that she left a note for the officer but it may take 1 month to get back to us!
Unbelievable!
I saw someone in November thread had the same situation! It’s like the new norm for them!

Oh and they thought he was out of status? But has he had valid status throughout? Not implied?

Yes 1 person waited 5 months and another waited 3 and they were under implied status though.
