Anything we can do between now and AOR1? Just sit and wait patiently to hope they got it all?

I am October applicant. Biometrics and Medical passed February 12, 2019
Background check still in process...
Nobody knows how long it will take.
My VO office is also in Singapore.
PA from Bangladesh.

Ur PA from which country?
Hey Sayma,

Our application had almost the same stages like yours. PA is a citizen of Bangladesh, (which is me) have studied in USA. My wife (the sponsor) is a permanent resident in Canada and applied for citizenship last year 2018.

Our timeline-

-Application submitted to Sydney- 7th August 2018

-Biometrics payment request- September 7th

-AOR- November 26

-SA- 27

-Medical request and biometrics request-1st week December

-Medical and biometrics done in USA- 2nd week of December

-Application was forwarded to Mississauga- 2nd week of December

-BGC started processing - 3rd week of December.

-Requested for police clearance from
Bangladesh - in the end of December.

-PCC submitted- in January.

-Application was forwarded to Singapore VO again on- 3rd Jan

-AOR2- 14th January

-RPRF requested- 13th February

-RPRF paid- 22nd February

We have received nothing after that.
I am in Bangladesh now. No pre-arrival yet. It’s been two months since we have paid our RPRF but still no response. This patience game is killing us now. My wife has visited me few times after applying the application. Please let me know if you receive pre-arrivals or any updates on your application. Best of Luck.

It all depends on how they asked you to submit the documents. For example some say via email, some say regular mail. It should be highlighted at the bottom of your letter on how they wish to receive requested documents .

Hi all, hope you are well. I just wanted to ask, is there anything that we need to receive after CoPR? We are outland so I assume no other interviews or anything left for us while in South Africa? Got my passport and CoPR back last week, paid my ticket with Emirates yesterday and flying 15th of June (I have to work until 07 June).

Thanks, the interview I am speaking of is the landing interview. I saw a few posts regarding landing interviews, but I assume those are only for applicants who are already in Canada.

@ruanp28 Congrats again! That was fast. We are expecting our COPR to arrive by the end of this week as well. I want to make sure all is in order before I book my husband's flight. :) I see on GCKey that COPR was issued today, so it is just a matter of sending it back to his local VAC, where he will pick it up. When you land, you will show your COPR to a CBSA officer, of course and they will send you to another counter or office where you will also wait your turn to speak to another officer. They might just ask you simple questions, like which address you will live at, but it is not an official interview. Make sure you have your Declaration card on you and also a List of personal belongings you are bringing with you + a list of goods you might bring later on, if anything, so you don't have to pay duties/taxes on them.
The BSF186 is the main form, but has only 8 lines. The BSF186A is used if you want more than 8 lines.
Make 2 copies of each set. One for yourself, and one for CBSA.
BSF186 is the same for goods accompanying and goods to follow. There is a checkbox to distinguish the two.
Good luck with everything! :)

@sdharan19 Sorry for my very late response! We had 17 days between Pre-arrival and DM (PPR on the same day), so I guess that is how long the BGC took, although, in our case, as well as several others that I have seen, BGC was showing as "in process" since the very start (AOR1, which is when app was linked on GCKey) There is no rule on how long BGC may take for each applicant...depends on many factors (travel history, countries lived in, military service, association with any organizations, criminal record etc) Hang in there, good things are coming! :)

Congratulations! You've been very helpful in this thread, and great to hear that your application is moving forward!
Thank you very much @gordiewow ! I plan to stick around for a bit. There are many people here who have been kind to me and very helpful and I hope I can do the same for others. I wish that your application sees some movement soon also! :)

WYWH Thanks my dear..
Guess you are right.. Just have to wait patiently. My background check is in progress since March 5th 2019...Probably because I qualified and worked as a doctor in the UK for 10 plus years..They need to verify all that I suppose. Might be around the corner like you said... Fingers crossed and with God s grace, hope to hear something positive soon .
thank you for the support and good luck with your new life in CANADA...God bless!!!
