Honestly I don't think it depends only on if you have an straight forward file or a complex one or a red flag, but also if the agent who's working on your file is a fast one or not, if the office is fast or not (apparently Montréal really slow, Vancouver rather busy and Winipeg super fast..)..

I'm Sept 24 applicant, still no news, not even a ghost update and I do not see any red flag in my file. I've lived the last 5 years with my common partner at the same adresse abroad, I was never out of status (visitor while application send, now OWP), I'm even working now. I'm from a non problematic country as well. My partner has a very good paid job, but that dosen't matter for Quebec applicants. My partner is canadian. We have no kids or dependant, no criminal records. I only lived in my home country, few travelling and mostly here to visit my partners family. I speak English and French fluent. The only thing that could slow down is that we are living in Québec, but I saw now some Québec applicants getting updates... So I really don't see where there could be a red flag that causes that my application isn't getting any updates... I have probably just a slow agent or a new one that needs more time or I'm in one of the slower proccessing centers who knows... I don't worry cause there are 6 more months to go before we hit the 12 month mark.. so relax

The ones who got already a letter from CIC (AIP, SA, DM or Landing) which one is your processing office (apparently it should be stated at the bottom of the page)?
Obviously being a Québec resident is a delay itself because the province of Québec has complete control over who it approves as a sponsor
All Québec residents are expecting delays you are not the only one
anything can be the reason of delay even where you live causes delays and everyone knows that

Yes I found that out after reading further

And they ask to confirm details on a COPR they have for you? They ask if you've been arrested in the past though they have that through our paperwork! I guess dotting the i's and crossing the t's.

I cant find a clear answer on what the appointment is about. Quick?
It's just to verify everything and welcome you to Canada as a PR

Hey guys,

So AOR October 10, OPW January 9, ongoing background check since December.
I just received a request from CIC for additional information proving that I am living in Canada with my husband.... They already have our lease with both our names, my passport stamps proving I've been in Canada since I started the process and they gave me the OPW...

Not sure what other information I can provide ? Any thoughts ?

Thanks a lot

I checked my Gckey today i received Eligibility Passed Letter but no update on ecas what does it mean?
Hi! I’m in the same situation. I got the Elegibility Passed on March 8 and until today is still in process on ECAS.
I phoned the CIC and they said nothing wrong and they are still checking background so that’s why I don’t have decision made yet.
Sponsor side already has Decision Made.

Maybe your sponsor will get the SA in the next days.

Best,

What other proof, besides the lease, did you provide to show that you were living at the same Canadian address with your husband? Also, is this a married or common-law application? Asking to hopefully better assist you.

I'd provide everything you can such as internet/phone bills, bank account summary in your name with address, if you are working a pay stub with your address or a T4 will also have that, letter from an employer confirming this, drivers licence, healthcare card, etc. If you only showed a work permit and lease that doesn't mean you are physically here as you may not be working and it's easy to add a name to a lease, and a passport stamp may show your entry into Canada but doesn't always show when you left so how are they to assume you are still here.

Hello, so I have received an email today telling to check my gckey. I checked it and I had a message waiting for me in my inbox. The message says it needs more proof of relationship, 2018 t4 /t5 slips , and 2018 option c print out. And also asks for the same tax info from my wife. Tax wise I am not clear on what to give. I don't work in Canada. .ever, but my wife is employed in Canada. Also are these requested documents OK to scan and upload on gckey? Or how does that work? Thanks folks it was good to hear back from them even if it is kinda crappy news.
You still have to file for income tax regardless of your income. As long as u were in Canada you must file for income tax. File for all the time (yrs) you have been here and you should get something to give them from CRA in two weeks.

Actually I don't see why Quebec applicants should take longer, we got the sponsor approval and eligibility passed on Québec side already mid november, the letter form MIDI stated that they've send that info also to CIC. So it's definitifly not on Québec's end thats slows down... Its on the federal side that takes longer for us Quebec applicants! It's weird and as I wrote earlier there are some Quebec applicants with close timeline who already got updates and others not.. So for me it's just in general the agents and officies that influence if it's fast or not..

I have received Inland APR Eligibility Decision letter. What is this letter for? Can someone explain please! Thanks

"It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent residence as a member of the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class. Please note that a final decision will not be made until all remaining requirements for becoming a permanent resident have been met. These requirements include medical, security and background checks for you and, if applicable, all of your family members, both in Canada and abroad, even if they are not applying to join you in Canada at this time. You cannot become a permanent resident until you and all your family members have met these requirements."

BTW, no status in ecas and mycic has been changed yet.
