Hi,
I’ve been accepted for the MBA - International Student Pathway (ISP) program for the fall intake starting from August 2019.
Have a few questions regarding this programme.
1. How good is this MBA programme from the job perspective & Co-op placement ?
2. What is the average salary package can we expect after completing this course, as the course fees is $ 56000 CDN approx. which is on the higher side.
3. Any part time job opportunities near St.Catherines area.
It would be really helpful to receive a response from any Brock MBA ISP alumini.
Expecting the prompt reply as I need to respond on the offer made by the university.
My Profile:
Work Exp: 7.5 years (6.5 yrs in HR, 1 yr in IT Consulting)
IELTS Score: 7
Qualification: Bachelor of Engineering in Computers, Post Graduate diploma in Systems.

Apart from Brock I have applied for MBA program in Royal Roads, VIU, Thompson Rivers.
& Graduate certificate in Project management / Global Mgmnt in Centennial, Sheridan, Humber.

Thank you!
Varsha

Of all the MBA programs you have applied to Brock would be the only one I would consider. With a full-time MBA you usually don't have much time for part-time jobs. If you do have time you are usually limited to service job because of availability on evenings and weekends. Brock is considered a 2nd tier university. I would consider it a mid 2 tier. You do benefit from the proximity to Toronto. Honestly a lot of it depends on your previous work experience and education and yourself as a candidate. Your IT background is helpful. Nobody can give you an idea about salary expectations. MBAs are pretty common these days. You almost need one just to be competitive compared to other candidates.

What Are the chances of getting student visa with Brock offer?
How long will it take to get the student permit/visa ?
In my offer letter, the deadline of accepting the offer is 30th April. Incase if I won’t get the visa on time, will my offer be withdrawn from Brock or they give some extension for submitting the visa?

Kindly reply to this urgently. Thank you.

What Are the chances of getting student visa with Brock offer? Depends on your complete profile.

How long will it take to get the student permit/visa ? Varies from a few weeks to many months

Incase if I won’t get the visa on time, will my offer be withdrawn from Brock or they give some extension for submitting the visa? You have to speak to the program coordinator to see if they will defer your enrolment to Fall 2019.

Kindly reply to this urgently. Thank you.

Hi, Everyone, I'm studying master of professional accounting at Brock.

I decided to join this conversation because there is not enough information about Brock Graduate Business Program so I want to share as much as I know.

1. How good is this MBA programme from the job perspective & Co-op placement ?
It a good very intensive program, the Co-op placement is very high but is because is very hard to get the privilege in the first place.
Because of the following.

1.- You have to take full charge (5 classes per term)
2.- You need to have an average grade of 75% or more (sounds easy but is not that easy)
3.-You need to pass a special class of Co-op in your second semester so (6 classes in the second term)
4.- You need an IELTS score of 7 overall in order to qualify for the co-op program before the deadline (April 30-2020 in your case)

2. What is the average salary package can we expect after completing this course, as the course fees is $ 56000 CDN approx. which is on the higher side.

Of what I know many got decent jobs after graduation, some of them got jobs in the Niagara Area some of them in the GTA.

3. Any part-time job opportunities near St.Catherines area.

Yes, but is not an easy program, you need to be very intelligent and high energy person to manage a part-time job and the MBA at the same time, most of the student do not work part-time. (they put you a lot of workloads just to make you feel miserable, for example in my finance class we review 22 chapters in 1 term, and in my cost accounting class we finish the chapters in 6 weeks, and the other 6 weeks was just practice of problems)

So what to expect.

In the best program, you will join a master of accounting and MBA students the will mix you for that precourse, the course BEST program itself is a taste of what is comming.

You will have to study every day Monday to Sunday for at least 10 hours per day in order to survive if you are like an ordinary student.
You need to score at least 60% in the midterms in order to feel that you can recover in the finals if you score less than 60% in 1subject, you could recover but if you score less than 60% in two or more subjects, you will have to think about dropping a subject. But doing that and you will not have an option for CO-OP.

I hope I can answer some of the questions.

This workload is typical for most MBA programs and many university programs in general in Canada. Would say that a Brock MBA is considered a 2nd tier MBA but MBA graduates are so common that it really is up to the individual when it comes to longterm success. The top Canadian business schools are UofT, Western, Queens, York, UBC and McGill. Would consider the first 4 the best.

Hi Varsha,

Did you join the 2019 batch if yes i have few questions for you.
1. Same thing that you asked, is it worth doing this course and are the co-ops any good?
2. I have already submitted my application. I have 6 years of experience as lawyer (in India) (My qualification is BBA + LL.B)
i did submit the pre-admission assessment and i meet all the minimum criteria as per their reply so that is not an issue. I just want to ask with this profile what are my chances of getting an admission offer(If you have any idea).
Please reply if you can. Thanks in advance.

I guys I graduated from Brock a few years ago so feel free if you guys need any help

MBA (ISP ) is a good program, there are a lot of job opportunities and as far as the incomes is concerned it all depends on how many years of Canadian experience you have? so if its your first job in Canada you might start with less but as soon as you gain experience you will also see a raise too
