I ended up calling CIC and getting information from the automated system. They told me that they are reviewing eligibility, requested medical exam, they do not need fingerprints at this time and will contact me if this changes, and processing my background check.

I called my rep and the office support told me he was not there today so I sent him a text asking for him to check his emails because CIC sent the med request and the time frame is so limited. I ended up getting some emails from him a few mins later stating my husband was sponsor approved, and my medical exam info all dated from yesterday March 7th. So good thing I am a type A person and called.

The soonest I was able to get in to be seen was March 29 in my husband's city (hoping we can go for lunch right after then I'll go home). Let's hope my flu is completely done by then. Since the automated system said they are processing my background check (but did not mention a start date) should I include that on the spreadsheet, or will there be an official notice of when the background check is started on ECAS?

I think we should try to call the cic too. Can i ask for the number pls. What information we need to provide for us to check the status of the application? All we have is the receipt number. Thanks

I paid the biometric fee still haven’t receive confirmation that they got it or the biometric letter to know where to go get it done .
It took them 3 days to see my receipt and forward it to the officer. How many days has it been for you?

I just tried to check in the ECAS too, and nothing was shown. So, with the use of the agent, there’s no way for me to check my application status except calling the CIC call Centre?

We are on the same boat. Getting anxious as well. My rep is not so reliable wish i did it myself. Got no result in ECAS with the receipt number and sponsor’s info. Asking my husband now to call cic. Wish we could get an update.

She said there is no updates yet, really strange cause we submitted our application january 3. And no emails until now about the AOR :(
Some people received it a little late. on what day did they receive your file, you mentioned you sent/submitted it on Jan 3. The received date is important to know.

The number when calling outside Canada is 613-944-4000 and hit option 1 I believe and then follow the prompts. I call using Google hangouts. Plus its a free call. The problem is that to use the automated system to check on your application status you need the application or uci number. I would call when they open between 8am and 8:30am EST to speak to a person and inquire information.

Your rep must have provided his/her email (could be) so all updates go directly to him/her. If you think he/she is not reliable, there should be a way to remove them and get full control of your application. You can always call CIC for such advise.

It was a typo in my signature. It was 16th
lol just clarifying for people who have not received anything yet and should know which files are receiving medical requests. There is always a pattern at the initial stages of files when they are just entering data into the system, determining the initial easy steps and later it depends on file and it's complexity.

I am assuming they want the medical done on my husband fairly fast. He does have Bipolar disorder, so I'm sure that is a factor.
