When my sponsor called IRCC to ask for help to link our app, the officer has mentioned exactly the same answer you have told me. Most make same mistake by entering 1 instead of 2. Thanks again.
 
They can only give status of application from her side, sponsor. They have told her that our app is in Mississauga office for Sponsor eligibility review progress.
yeah, it happened with me twice. They don't give you information from other side, if you are not representative on file, thats actually not fair, but it is what it is. They just told me about my sponsor side only, nothing for applicant.

Did u call them? I ws about to call them bit i read somewhere that if u want to know anout ur suppost to be a representative

Just saw the progress bar, cool visualization (with no breakdowns) but nothing new or helpful - just another huge waste of taxpayers' money (wonder how much $ and how many wo/men hours they spent on this). But still cool if it can get better over time... probably in baby steps:

yeah, i called them twice , once after getting dm on both sides and once before getting this. Both the times they never told me any useful information regarding my part even. So, i think its just wastage of time, waiting 30-35 mins and then end up with nothing. Some agents are nice and provide information, most of them don't bother to answer. I think only call them if its urgent . Otherwise just sit and wait. :)

True if i didnt hear from them after my dm for 10 days ill call them
