Inland Spousal Sponsorship - December 2018

We are so happy that everything has gone well so far. Especially last week of Feb when we got 2 emails in a day about the medical pass and OWP been approved! The question I have now is that, can my wife travel to go visit back home if she wants? She does have a multiple entry 5 years visa and now she will have OWP and her Temporary Residency was also approved.
So I'm assuming we would be good?
Also, her initial 6 months stay expired on Dec 21, 2018. Since her TR is approved with OWP, does that mean we do not have to renew or apply for status restoration? Can she just book a flight and leave and come back?
Please advise.

Your application wasn't rejected, but rather simply sent back. It's as if you never applied.
As to Outland or Inland, it's up to you and your sponsor to weigh the positives and negatives of each. Since you're an American, outland should be relatively quick. Additionally, you can travel in and out of Canada without worry your PR app will be rejected. The drawback to the outland is that you won't be able to apply for an OWP, so you may wish to consider the possibility of not working for months (to be conservative, let's say half a year). Not sure if this would be an issue in your case -- again, just something to consider. The positives of inland is that, well, you're in Canada with your partner, and you can apply for an OWP (meaning potentially less time not working). The drawbacks are that if you leave Canada, you're taking a bit of a risk, and it simply takes longer to get to the finish line (conservatively, 12 months). Really, it all depends on what you and your partner want, what is best for your situation. My partner and I chose the inland route, and while we would love to be done with this immigration process, we're also pretty content. Living a rather normal life as we wait.

... But I also have family events in the states that would be nice to be able to attend. (My younger brother is getting married, etc)
I'll have to discuss with the fiance, now that my initial 'omg panic' has run its course.
Attending events like your brother's wedding shouldn't raise much of an issue. Short trips are fine. so we only signed the documents by hand . is that a problem? also my hubby passed the medical exam so can they still send our application back or everything ok?

There is no problem to leave the country while in the process! My husband and I are out of the country right now and received the OWP 1 day after we left Canada!
In the OWP they give you a new visitor visa / eTA and the OWP! With your name they will see your authorizations in the system..
Please someone correct if I'm wrong! I spoke with an immigration consultant and she told me that
First at all, the OWP isn’t a travel document. It doesn’t give you the right to travel to Canada. Along with your permit, you need either:
- a temporary resident visa or
- an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA)
Secondly, the immigration consultant isn't always right. In fact a lot of immigration consultants do not have enough knowledge about the process...
Sorry, but that is exactly what I told.. OWP + eTA to re-enter the country
the OWP to explain what are you going to do in the country!About to leave the country in the middle of the process, it says clearly in CIC webpage that there is no problem.. the only problem would be if authiritues doesn't allow you to re-enter, then you would lost your process!
