Quick question.
The place where I worked for 7 months, it does not have an online presence. There is no website and all, as it operates locally. They pay by cash, and I do not have any salary stubs or bank documents to confirm it. They provided me a letter with everything required.

I am asking because I saw this from somebody's GCMS notes:
How will the BG check happen (The below says "WEB BASED SEARCH")? When my company is not even on the internet, will it cause a review required?

*REVIEW REQUIRED* - eDoc# ******* - Web-based search confirms employer information NOTE: DIFFERENT LOGO / SAME DOMAIN NAME / SAME OFFICE ADDRESS / PHOTO OF PA APPEARS ON EMPLOYER'S WEBSITE MISTAKE ON THE LETTER OF EMPLOYMENT REGARDING THE STARTING DATE LETTER CONFIRMS FULL-TIME EMPLOYMENT JOB DESCRIPTION CONSISTENT WITH DECLARED NOC PA PROVIDED W-2 WAGE AND TAX STATEMENT FOR 2017 - Letter confirms salary of *****hour - Documented Income Provided: Pay stubs from 2018 (eDoc# *******) FSW Work: 0 years(s) 0 month(s) of 1 year(s) - REVIEW REQUIRED CRS Foreign Work: 0 years(s) 0 month(s) of 2 year(s) - REVIEW REQUIRED
These are not background check notes but notes related to initial eligibility review. All eligibility notes have a remark that they searched for the employer on the web and the employer's information matched with the information provided by the applicant.

I am not sure what they do in case they cannot find any information about the employer online but many people have got approved despite the employer not having a website, so I do not think it would be a ground for refusal and you shouldn't worry too much about it. Just order GCMS notes at 4 months after AOR to see what it says.

I can't believe I'm actually saying this but I got PPR 10 minutes ago. I am CEC Inland, so have a landing appointment scheduled on March 21!

My timeline:
AOR: Nov 9th
MEP: Dec 11th
Literally nothing else.
PPR: Feb 27

My case was a bit difficult, too as I am travelling with my son but not his father. Also I unfortunately have a mark on my criminal record that I had to get criminal rehab for. So I thought I was in for a long wait. But here we are!

The letter asked me to pay RPRF before my interview.

My friend who is in exactly the same situation as me (same education, employer, etc) submitted his app in Sept and hasn't heard anything so I honestly thought I'd be waiting til May.

Congratulations! That's wonderful.

Did you see any ghost updates in your profile?

7 weeks since RPrf requested and paid! So...
Also, the RPrf request letter mentioned a hold of 7 days before they will continue the processing!
your RPRF was probably initiated during R10 checks which is what I also expected but didn't come so it will probably come for me when my application is approved.

7 days hold is not bad :)

Thanks! Yeah it was stressful because of the rehab thing. I actually ordered my GCMS notes because I was so worried about everything (I have a confusing NOC as well) so I wanted to head off any issues quickly. My GCMS notes are expected to come next week. So I guess I can at least see how they handled that on their end.

I think maybe mine happened quickly because the rehab process itself entails a thorough vetting. I got my rehab after 3 weeks of applying, and when I applied for my work permit it was approved in two weeks when the standard waiting period at that time was 8 weeks. Strange! But good!

So is verifying work experience part of eligibility check, or security and criminality?
I would assume it is part of eligibility since the others have to do with Police certificates, INTERPOL, etc... I would also assume security and criminality are what is the actual BG check...

Congrats!

I'm curious if the request for your passport came with a deadline. Like the other Nov '18 applicants here I have been waiting for the good news to arrive soon, however, I have some upcoming international travel and worried that submitting the passport might put a wrinkle on those plans.
