guys, there might be good news for some of us.

Apparently some (at least 1 application) has been transferred out from Montreal to Ottawa due to "workload sharing" agreement between offices. So there might be others among us who might have turned lucky and the applications may have been shipped out from Montreal to Ottawa. Fingers crossed.
Do you know the AOR of that person who's file transferred to Ottawa Office? At lease this can confirm they are doing something about applications rather collecting dusts.

F1. Tried H1B route but luck was not on my side.
Apply a TRV ASAP. you can get it done within 20 days if no hicup. then pack you bags and going to Canada on that TRV.

In the TRV application include a LOE about your PR situation and the time left in US, and mention dual intend. Do not over stay your current visa if you are already on your grace period!!

once you arrive there raise a CSE to update your address in Canada.

Well I had tried all sorts of permutations and combinations .. from very emotional long ones to short ones.

Below is the text I sent in my last CSE.

Hi, My timeline has crossed the normal processing time. I know that my file is at Montreal office and my eligibility was set as "Recommended Passed" on <Date>. Today marks 5 months since last action was taken on my file. Could you please help me in raising a request with Montreal office to kindly take a look at my file. Thank you for your help!

Should I write one too? since the VO rejected the last inquiry, shall I still try again? today I am officially 7 month.

Hello all,

I posted this in the Sep forum, but since my VO is Mont I wanted to ask here as well. I'm new here, but been a silent reader, and would appreciate your opinions. So I have called CIC twice in the last couple of months and I have gotten similar responses. Both times the agents said eligibility "looks good," but nothing more specific.

AOR - SEP 8, MEP - Oct 3, Biometrics - Oct 11, RPRF - Dec 23 (Paid same day)

First CIC call (in Dec) - Agent said eligibility looks good, but "just needs final double-checking"
Second CIC call (in Jan) - Agent said eligibility is "pending, but looks good."

First, what do you think is my eligibility status? Second, is the RPRF request any indication about the status of my application? (The RPRF letter said "The admissibility review is currently in progress.")

Thank you for your feedback.

i think your eligibility has been recommended passed by the case analyst but it won't be fully approved until a final decision is given by a reviewing officer (who is a senior officer). I am not sure when the officer will come around to reviewing the case analyst recommendation though. Montreal isn't exactly known for its efficiency, as you probably know by now

Thanks for your reply. I guess it makes sense that "recommended passed" = "looks good" from the agents' perspective. Given the 6 months time frame, I actually thought the application moved as expected until RPRF, but I'm now getting concerned as I'm within 10 days of the the 6 month. If it's just a matter of waiting, I guess I have enough practice by now. :)

order GCMS notes ASAP to find out. agents' wording can not be predicted and sometime a few would say whatever they want, I called 9 times the past 3 month and every time got a different response, some say my back ground check started and then changed to not started, some say nothing has started.

the only know for sure is from GCMS notes and that would be only reliable source.

Of course go ahead and write one. Don’t be discouraged by call center agents.
I will do. I will write in short this time. last time I wrote 1000 max words to explain more why I need to find out the status, and what has been done. sent that still got generic response back. I felt sometime they dont even read the content of the CSE.

OKay, thanks! I think I'll probably let the 6 months expire in a few days and see if there is any update and then call CIC to see if there has been positive progress. If that doesn't help I'll do the gcms (which will take a while to get anyways). I'm not in Canada currently, so I've been avoiding that.

Hi All,
Just bumped into this forum from another one. I too have my application stuck at the Montreal VO.
Here are the details on my application :
Type: FSW - Outland
CSR: 451
AOR: July 23rd 2018
Medicals Passed : August 15th 2018.
STATUS (PER GCMS): Additional review required on September 26th 2018 by Montreal VO
I found out that my application is in the Montreal VO in December 2018. the last action taken on my application by Montreal was on Sept 26th. Since then I have done 1 CSE, 2 GCMS Notes and 2 Phone calls to the MPs office. All state the same thing, the last action was on September 26th 2018 with the following notes.
Since then, I have already arrived in Canada on a TRV and a work permit. I have updated these documents to my application using CSE and also provided my bank statements for the last 3 years which the MP's office has advised me to do. My statutory question that i answered was that I have a denied US tourist visa and a denied Canadian tourist visa. I had provided details for both and also the analyst found details on of the denied visa which is added to the GCMS notes which I am not pasting below. Any idea what else I can do, besides off course waiting patiently ?
Please see below summary of GCMS notes:
ANALYST RECOMMENDATION: Review Required MI3 SUMMARY NOTES: -CRIMINALITY: CIO RECOMMEND REVIEW REQUIRED FOR STATUARY QUESTION -PROOF OF FUNDS: NO SIGNATURE ON DOCUMENT, DATE OF ACCOUNT OPENING DECEMBER 2017 -QUALIFIED PERSON IN CANADA: UNCLE. NO PROOF OF CANADIAN ADDRESS PROVIDED. A11.2 Appears Met R75: FSW MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - Appears Met R76: SELECTION CRITERIA -Appears Met FSW points total: 70 Ready to finalize RPRF: Complete

unfortunately, i don't think there really is anything more that you can do.

I think you should hopefully hear soon now. Most people are getting between 7 and 8 months time

Doesn’t hurt to do so. Is it worthwhile that’s altogether different matter. But do raise one.
Cansha- are you in the what'sapp group for montreal? Can you look and give your opinion about the last few picture's about GCMS notes that were posted??
Ifeel I may be in a similar situation too and can seek some third eye!

I'm not in WA group. If someone can post pictures here I can have a look.
