There is a fee listed as "Sponsor your spouse or partner without right of permanent residence" on

Does anyone know what that means? What can one do with such a service?

I am outland considering options to sponsor my wife and maybe this would be suitable - we really just want to go visit Canada occasionally.

If you don’t plan to settle in Canada permanently, expect your application to be refused. If you are only planning to visit, get a TRV.

It means that you will need to pay the Right of Permanent Residence fee later in the process. It HAS to be paid at some point in time.

You'll need to prove that you will be settling in Canada once your spouse gets PR to be approved.
