Hi @legalfalcon

Still waiting unfortunately since aor of June 2017. A couple of months ago I ordered CSIS notes and never got them. After checking again, CSIS sent 2 files. 1st one had several pages with “Screening Request Information” as header, and another letter stating that they need an extension of 90 days before releasing the notes.

My questions are; are there any useful info for me in the Screening Request info? And is it normal for them to request a 90 days extension? The first time I ordered CSIS notes they simply sent me a letter saying I’m undergoing checks. Sounds a bit weird to me that they would need 90 days to send me the same letter, or another one saying my checks were done...

CSIS and CBSA routine seek extension, and it means that your screening is ongoing. Only after CSIS has concluded its involvement, will they send a report to CBSA, which will then start its screening and submit the final report to IRCC.

The report tells when your file was received by CSIS, which is an important date.

Hi legalfalcon,

Can you please advise on this? Much appreciated....

The person who would like to sponsor their sibling(s) needs to meet the following conditions:

  • be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • be at least 18 years old
  • resides in Canada
  • files the sponsorship application according to the guidelines
  • does not owe the government of Canada or his/her provincial government money or other obligations due to previous sponsorship applications
  • meets the minimum income requirements
The preceding conditions are necessary but not enough. The following conditions are also need to be in place:

  • The parents of the sponsor are deceased (dead)
  • The siblings are under 18 years of age
If the siblings are 18 years old or more they still can be sponsored if the sponsor is a lonely person (he/she does not have a spouse, a common-law partner, a conjugal partner, a mother or father, a child, or any close relatives in Canada or who could be sponsored to Canada).

@legalfalcon
Thank you very much for the information.
CSIS received SS request from CBSA on Dec.2017, completed SS in Sep. 2018 and handed to CBSA. But the whole application was reviewed and recommended "pass" and "ready to finalize" in Just 1 month (Nov. 2017). I understand that CSIS takes a lot of time to check everything but is it normal for CBSA to hold the screening for such a long time?
CBSA only starts after they receive the CSIS report. If you are in SS, then CBSA can take a few months to conclude and submit the report to IRCC.

The 'ready to finalize' that you see in the eligibility section, only is with regard to eligibility, and not security.

OK sir, although I have mentioned my case registration number date and also informed them via cse that its a mutual divorce, I will ask my lawyer to provide me true copy of my petition, I have to get it translated. Can your please tell me
1. Do I need to provide a letter from authorised translator?
2. Also, I need to notarize the translated copy ?
3. Most importantly what martial status will cic print in my new copr as divorce is under process?

Thnx for your valuable time and guidance, many people suggested me to use the existing copr however I don't have any wrong intentions and want to fly after getting legitimate documents only
1. If the petition is in a language other than english or hindi, you will need to get a translation. The final submission will look like this:
- Certified copy of the original
- Translation of the original
- Affidavit of translation from the translator

2. See above

3. IRCC will simply remove your spouse from the application. On the COPR your marital status is not not mentioned. Only dependents are mentioned.

The 1st page of the screening request information is titled “SSRN” with client “CBSA” and status “completed”with request date of November 2017(same date my gcms and cbsa notes seem to indicate SS started) then several pages of my information (addresses, education etc.) and then several pges of activities all marked as Completed (manual review, automatic checks, etc) with the last activity shown being “response sent to client” on september 2018. The last page shows a table titled “recommendation/advice” and the results are redacted (is it normal to redact them?) and issued date september 2018. From what I understood is that it seems CSIS already sent their report to CBSA on September 2018. Is my interpretation accurate or just wishful thinking? :D

Hi @legalfalcon, thank you for your valuable advice. I have a concern. I heard that we are required to enter our parents names in the family history post ITA. My mother’s last name was misspelled in my birth certificate. A letter is omitted.Because my country used the birth certificate to do the police certificate, her name has been written the same way in the police certificate. We were able to receive a letter from the court in my country that testifies that she is the same person in my birth certificate. I would like to know if uploading my birth certificate and the letter issued from the court and explaining the issue in a LOE will be enough to clear any confusion. Or only the LOE is enough? Thank you.

Hi there. I received NOI from OINP yesterday but it doesn't specify which substream. However, all of the people who I've run into in this forum with NOIs issued yesterday have NOCs starting with 72,73,82. Even my friend and I have NOC 8232. If I go over the OINP skilled trade stream, it clearly mentions that these NOCs are skilled trade ones which require applicant to have one year Ontario work experience, legal status in Canada and license to practice from Canada. I have none of these things and the crazy part is I never chose any options in my EE profile to make OINP or CIC think that I do (Even my friend didn't). I don't know if I should go ahead and apply for OINP in the stipulated 45 days and even if I go ahead, should I apply under HCP or ST streams. Furthermore, I'll have to analyze your answer but whatever you advice, I still have to verify from you if applicants can choose NOCs starting with 72,73,82 if they've never worked in Canada, for even standard federal EE application? I had to pick 8232 because that was the one that most resembled my actual job duties and none other did. I even remember that at the stage where they ask for picking NOC while filling out the EE application, they clearly stated that "Date you first qualified in a certain NOC is the date when you got license to practice it in Canada if the NOCs are 72,73,82 and for all other NOCs it is the date your graduated". However, even though I picked 8232, I still went ahead and put the qualification date as my graduation date. Should I refuse to submit application for this NOI and rather change my NOC from skilled trade ones? Sorry for the long question, hope you can advice.

Hi @legalfalcon Please help me with this, my aor is August 2nd and the two gcms I requested so far has a review required for work experience as a teaching assistant.

Please what do these statements mean has shown on my notes

MI3 Summary notes: appears min requirement not met. Please review
A11.2: Appears met
FSW points total: 64 ready to finalize
.

I've not gotten any ghost updates or ADR till dates. I've even been looking forward to rejection since last year but no movement at all on my file. My first note was requested in October and my second in December, its all the same expect to show they received the additional documents I sent.

Thank you

HI @legalfalcon

I submitted the case inquiry from GETGCMS website about notes not received.
I received reply from the website support people that they will submit the case inquiry to IRCC.
How long after the inquiry submitted to IRCC, I can expect the notes
