For tourist its not necessary to have invitation letter.
Until and unless you have someone there who you are going to visit.

Thanks. My friend's visa was rejected due to this reason. The visa office wrote in the rejection letter that "It is the a proper reason to see different beautiful places in difference Canadian cities".

Please let me know how much minimum bank statement would be enough if you have an experience of getting visa?
