Question for the pros- If I understand correctly, they take your PR card at the oath ceremony. Do you apply for the Canadian passport right then? How long does it take to get the Canadian passport? thanks, just worried about this limbo time with no travel docs for canada!!

Is getting email for Citizenship exam only way to check date or it will display on CIC application status?
I am still waiting to Exam date.

It will appear on your ECAS (application status) and you will receive an email as well. Better to keep checking your ECAS in case you don't receive email as they usually do update the ECAS even if you don't receive email for any reason.

You can apply for passport 2 business days after your ceremony. You can choose urgent processing when applying for passport for a higher fees if you want to get it sooner.

The spreadsheet is showing quite a lot of people generally still waiting - some back to March 2018. Things do seem to be progressing slowly for some people and faster for others. If you have concerns you could try calling the call centre 1-888-242-2100 to see what they say.
