Since your eligibility has been passed, I guess they’re still working on your background check. Have you had any previous visa refusal in the past?
No they are not working on it. File has not been touched. It is one of the greatest urban myths here that background check takes time. I can't prove it but it is not more than few hours to 2 day job to finish security. Only certain cases require more than that. This myth has been propagated by same theorists who say "every file is different blah blah". It has no truth.
To answer your question no I don't have any visa refusals.
And to answer a question you didn't ask .. recommended passed has nothing to do with time taken to approve a file. There are many cases on this thread itself where case was review required but PPR came well within 6 month timeline.
So yes every file is different but not because of "facts" of the case but just because of random draw of luck.
Yah.. recommended pass or review required to me are same. I read on March thread, and there was a folk AOR March 2nd with RP since April 11 and yet, he had to wait until his 9th month to get ppr. So to me it is just somebody make a time to pick up the file and press the button That's it
Yep it all comes down when some visa officer feels like picking your file and taking some action on it.
So why is your file in Montreal? Lol. I thought we in Montreal are either US or Inland applicants that have had one refusal or the other that need to be reviewed either the main applicant or spouse in some cases. I agree with you that there is no set standard for how people receive their PPR, it’s really luck. I just pray that luck shine on those of us still waiting.
You are right most files in Montreal are either US based outland candidates or inland candidates. But your other assumption is incorrect. Whether someone has a review required or not is determined at eligibility check stage which happens after the files have been already reassigned to VOs. Also, it has nothing to do with visa refusals of main applicant or spouse.
Also, I have no answer to why my file is at Montreal. It's probably my good looks or even better luck who really knows. Official reason as per GCMS notes is "Workload Redistribution".
