Hi annevn8, I am in Ip2. My background status says: We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information. From last communications with IRCC, Eligibility is still under review, medical passed, criminality verifications are in process and security verifications have not been initiated.
This for me is strange because criminality is usually passed or recommended pass at the R10 stage except for RR cases for statutory. My review required for statutory question was tagged with criminality. Do you know what your elligibility is under review for. Do you know how long you have been in IP2 for? I really hope that these are not the current state of your application and that PPR mail would be triggered soon

His IP2 is inconsequential as he is an inland candidate. Most inland candidates move to IP2 as soon as R10 check is done. @annevn8's case is an exception.

Not much movement today. Not that I'm surprised. I kind of expecting it but was still hoping for some movement. But, many people are still on holidays in first week of Jan. If they are not may be we can expect some movement tomorrow. I have no big expectations on Friday as traditionally it has been dull.

If people are on vacation in first week. I expect them to be back by 7th. Let's give them 1-2 days to get back in groove. I think things should move from 9th Jan onward. Also, good thing is there are no big holidays for quite some time in future so things may move quickly if they decide to work on our files.

But, I think we have 7 more days to go before things start moving again. But again Montreal did surprise by giving some PPRs in last week of Dec so let's see if they get going earlier than 9th.

Ya.. in my case, it is completely silent in ip1 until the date my Eligibility passed and ip2 started on that date. It is silent again now... I blame my luck for being processed at Montreal ;)

Something I have noticed though with abour seven of the cases (including Whatsapp cases) that have gone beyond six months is that they are inland. Is Montreal averse to processing inland applications?

Trust me we all blame our luck for our files being in Montreal. Sigh.
@cansha is 9 months not record breaking for Montreal? Since you have been monitoring, have you seen an application take 9 months?

A

Also criminality is also passed very early at CIO together with the R10 check. That is what I saw on my note. What is the reason for eligibility review required do you know?
Reviewing my spouse open work permit refusal. She reapplied and it was approved. So don’t understand what they’re still reviewing.

Its similar case like that of @Rijo02. He was later sent an ADR for marriage proof if I'm not wrong. Find his old posts you will see. But even with that he received PPR / Interview in 7th month. You have crossed that timeline so hopefully your case may get approved soon.

The same thought comes to my mind as well. My opinion is that inland applicants have already gone through most if not all the required screenings as a student or worker, why waste their time? It really doesn’t make much sense to me but what can one do than to pray and trust God for speedy response.
