Hello - I have applied for PR application on Oct 2018 and still did not receive any file number. My PGWP(3 year) will expire on Feb 2018 . Does anybody have any idea if i can extend my work permit and continue working. And also what type of work permit can I apply for now.

Thanks a alot for the suggestion. One of the condition for Bridging work permit is "your current work permit expires in 4 months or less". And my PGWP expires in 2 months (Feb 2019). And also my AINP expired in November 2018. I was wondering if this will be an issue.

Your PGWP does expire in 4 months or less (less than 4 months till it expires) so you meet that requirement.

For the second part I am not an expert but I think once you have applied for your PR, your nomination letter can expire and it won't matter.

Thanks a lot. I appreciate your help. It was helpful.

I just checked the website https://www.alberta.ca/ainp-after-you-are-nominated.aspx and it says that in orger to apply one needs to have an IRCC file number . I Still didnt get the file number.

You are not eligible for a BOWP if you have not received file number for your PR application and if your AINP has employment restrictions.

Your only option would be applying a closed work permit in which your employer must submit a LMIA Exempt form online on IRCC website and pay the $230 compliance fee.

After all that is done, they will receive a receipt and employment ID number through email which you will attach together with your work permit application.
