Hi there,

I'd like apply common law for not a sponsor but open work permit.

My partner and I've dated more than one and half year and we lived together 10month
However, my partner has to leave Canada for a while (maybe 2-3 months)

My question is,

should I count again the 12months period from after my partner back to the Canada? I mean, should we leave together exactly 12months continuously? or can I count 15months and make 12months? (deduct 3months when partner is not here)

Thanks every one!

Hi

It must be a continuous year. The count will restart after his absence. If you don't want to lose the 10 months you have accumulated, I suggest you go with him.
