We applied in May this year (I'm sponsoring my wife - we got married outside Canada), did our medical and all that and submitted it in. We applied overseas but we just arrived in Canada (I came back first so I can start job hunting). She'll be flying back home next month then back to Canada again after a few weeks.
We just got a physical mail that contain two identical copies of a letter that said 'Confirmation of Permanent Residence'. (Our family accepted the package for us back home and took photos of it and sent it to us) One had a photo of her, one did not. But bother were confirmation of permanent residence.
But that was it. We had no other communication or email about what to do next or what to do with these letters.
I googled and found that this is the paper that you hand in once you land in Canada, starting the confirmation of the PR process. (We don't write or sign anything on this paper before hand right?)
I also read about how once you land, you will not be able to fly out and back into Canada again (since you will not be eligble for the tourist visa, which is what my wife is currently using). She would need to stay in Canada until she gets her PR card. Normally this wouldn't be an issue but the timing is around Chinese New Year (but we'll sort it out).
The main question that I have is should be another piece of letter or communication coming explaining our next steps?
Thanks!
