To be on the safer side since my PPR can be anytime soon,I’ll just renew it I have from now to October that’s it’s expiry date and the problem is this passport book problem in Ghana now I don’t know if u guys are aware of?

Yes there is an issue with passport booklets in Ghana.

Also, the last thing you want is to submit your current passport, and then not have a new valid passport issued by the time the AVO send PPR so it would be beneficial if you contacted AVO to see how they would want you to proceed because it is a Catch 22. The Ghana Passport office really delay getting passports out to people in Ghana. Now they also want everyone to apply online.

Your situation is precarious so best to get the information from the horse's mouth so to speak.

However, since a valid passport is required you need to do what is best for your situation.

Since every case is different, reasons for refusal will be different too, and so will the time and the way refusal is handed out. From other forums it would seem refusals are handed down after an interview is failed towards end of the process, they are also handed down if incorrect or untruthful information is provided to IRCC and that can be at the early stage of the application or during the review process of the file by the visa officers. Refusals are also handed out if the parties don't qualify to be sponsors. For spousal applications, not being able to prove marriage is genuine would be the most common reason.

Unfortunately no, they do not meet personally with applicants regarding immigration files. Every inquiry has to go through proper channels such as Webform or email (accra.immigration@international.gc.ca).

The only time they meet with applicants is when they call and schedule interviews with the applicants.

They do allow Canadian citizens to attend about basic consular needs such as passports and citizenship and travel documents.

Yes that's correct. As a Canadian citizen you can inquire only about consular matters. The immigration matters cannot and are not discussed there because you have to go through proper channels.

You can always try calling the consular number for Canadian citizens or sending them an email to the email address for citizens' consular matters to put your mind at ease.

If you are there in Ghana or from here, you can call the consular section number or email and tell them of your intentions to see someone about your immigration file and see what they say about it to put your mind at ease.

There are some sponsors on this forum who were there and were told that they don't discuss immigration matters and cannot see or meet with the visa officers, unless the visa officers had asked for an interview and scheduled an appointment with the applicant during processing of the file.

Please, how do I apply for a birth certificate from Nigeria? There is someone online offering the service for 150 pounds (I ain't got that kinda cash to spend). I am sponsoring my spouse and she has got no Birth Certificate or Baptismal Card. However, we do have an affidavit from a court in Nigeria declaring her age, would this suffice? .
