Can i get a divorce while i am in Canada. My husband and i have been living apart since 2000. We were married in jamaica in 1994 and i hear he is living in the united States and he is a mental patient. I dont know where he is i have no contact. I am from jamaica

You must be living in Canada for at least one year before you can apply for divorce.

Regardless of the country where you apply for divorce, you probably won't be able to get divorced if you don't have a mailing address to serve the summons on your husband and/or a divorce settlement may not be possible if your husband has mental illness
