Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2018

hello ,

I have been trying to link application for my parents for a while. I do have a file number. so I have been using file number and family name option and then passport info but its not working. I will try with place of birth. is there any other pointer you would like to give me so I can link it too. I do have a co sponser ( wife) and i am sponsoring mom and dad and I have two kids. any help is much appreciated.

For me, it was just myself (sponsor) and my mom (principal applicant), and the number that I entered for the total number of people in the application was 2 I believe.
With try from numbers 2, 3, 4, 5, it may give you a result. As long as it shows up on Ecas, and you have the file number, I believe that it works.
In my case, it was just the place of birth vs passport that made the difference.

In my case I did the file number and last name and then I put 5 in the number of family member 5 ( me, my spouse, my daughter, mom and dad) and it worked

Hi, I am very confused about parents sponsorship. so it says online that I have to meet the LICO for the three years following the application . do I have to meet the LICO at the time I submit the application itself? or for the taxation years following the application ? right now I am a little below LICO , but I will be moving to a new position after that will exceed the LICO .

You need to meet LICO for 3 taxation years prior to entering the lottery. So for people who entered the lottery this year (2018), they needed to meet LICO requirements for 2014, 2015, 2016 OR 2015, 2016, 2017 (has to be consecutive) taxation years. You also need to continue meeting till the day your parents land as PR.

You cannot even be short $1 in either of the 3 years, else application will be rejected and you would've wasted a lottery spot.

Also, keep in mind LICO is not the amount reflected on your offer letter, it's the amount on your T4, that you made throughout the year.

Assuming you qualify LICO this year for the first time, then you will be eligible to sponsor 3 taxation years from now, so in 2021.

Good details and in addition to above response from razerblade...

Highly recommend to have the NOA(Notice of Assessment) from CRA - and look for amount on Line150 ... Because if you have a T5 for any year and that is always been reported to CRA while filling the Tax and this will eventually effect your Total Income of the year.

Also, if you have rental income that can be effective on your total income as well. So would say NOA

It depends - if CIC have got enough number of applications for this year then maybe there will be no another draw... so it depends what #'s comes up

Since we have not known so far how many invitees have submitted their completed applications, the only thing we can do is to wait!!!
Last year, the 2nd round was announced on September 6th. So assuming the timeline continues to be the same, we shall wait until September 6 or beyond to see what is coming...

The IRCC website said you must meet the LICO for 3 consecutive years PRIOR (not following) to the online lucky draw submission (it is called express of interest).
Assuming you meet this requirement AND get selected by lucky draw, you still MUST maintain your LICO until your parents land as PR

At present i have got approval for Sponsorship and file has been transferred to local visa office.

I was just able to link my parents application online. I used file number and uci

Finally i was able to link it. Used file number and uci option. It worked for me. My dad principal applicant had uci number on their visito visa.
