Yesterday i received the MR. Today I called to make an appointment with the IRCC doctor and the secretary told me that first I have to take a Pap test with a specific gynecologist (they gave me the name and number of the doctor) and a visual examination with a specific ophthalmologist (they gave me the name and number of the doctor too).
Once I have those results, I must book an appointment with the IRRC doctor to know what are the next steps.
I don't understand why they do it this way if in the IRCC forms that I must take to the consultation it doesn't say that I should take a pap test.
I'd need like 5 days to get all the test and for what i read of other people experiences only took them a few hours to get their medicals done.
I'd like to know if soemthing similar happened to someone else.

That is strange. Is he the only panel physician in your area?? If so, I would double check with an IRCC agent.

It sounds strange. If I were you, I would call other panel physician in your area. Besides chest x ray and blood test, my physician spent maximum 10 mins for my physical checkup.

Llama al call Center, es raro. El único dr en mi área tiene una página web, y lo único que evalúan es la vista, abdomen, cuello, análisis de sangre, orina, y rayos X..

I would definitely call other physicians in your area and see what tests they do. Pap test is not part of the medical examination for admission to Canada. It sounds to like they have set up a deal with these doctors they are recommending you to go see, and they make $$$ of everyone they refer.

That is NOT a part of the immigration medical. If that is what the Panel Physician office says, email the relevant Regional Medical Office ASAP and inform them, specifically that they are trying to make you see a gynecologist. They will deal with it quickly.

Hello, what solution did you find ?
Do you know if the doctor has emedical now? In the past, I remember some people saying that the results were sent via courier and that's why some of them took close to a month to get their results delivered to CIC

Hola!! I tried to send you a PM so you could tell me what your wife's experience was like but I couldn't. This is a disaster, the secretary is super rude. I had to beg her to give me the info over the phone because she insisted that I should go to the clinic just to get it, but I live 3 hours from Maracaibo and going there, knowing the situation of the country, just to get information is absurd. I've 2 days calling because I'd like to know why they request that test if it's not part of the IRCC protocol, but nobody responds, or if they do it the person on the other side of the line remains silent. The only choice i've is going there on Monday to see what happens.

Where did your wife went to get the lab tests? I read in another forum that they send the patients to El Oncológico de Occidente. I asked about it to the secretary and she didn't wanted to confirm the information because 'i was not going to understand those complicated medical things' The funny thing about everything is that I'm also a doctor -.-'

(Sorry this came from a drafted message)

I have a friend and she confirmed that it actually is a requirement for women older than 35 years old to get a pap smear because as they need to check for HIV or VDRL, they need to check for HPV. She did her exams in Caracas and the doctor accepted the results from a pap smear that was close to a month old.
