application submission: June 9th, 2018
Biometric letter (BIL): June 28th,2018
Status changed to your application review process started: July 10th, 2018
Got Refusal Letter: July 11th, 2018
For students its definitely he will live around or near their college or university. Otherwise it has never been asked during application where we will stay. But during the interview if conducted. They could ask you. You could simply say that doing all accomodation arrangements prior to getting study permit does not make sense and definitely after getting study permit i will find residence near school. There are several real estate agents websites in canada who arrange accomodation.

One more thing because most of students contact landlords by sitting at home (Pakistan) so that's why landlords ask student to sign lease
for 1 year or 8 months actually they try to take advantage from them. Don't do that, just convince them you need residence for 4 months and then you will renew lease afterwards. The reason behind it, once you get there after some time you want to live with muslim students becasue of several reason for example, it can be cheap residence some where else, halal food and place near mosque etc.

received call from Abu dhabi visa office on 5th July to verify details mentioned in my paper application.
Got medicals passed next day.
Since then no update
U need to show enough funds for the first year of study.

Chances of getting visa: no one can tell u
it all depends on how strong your case is and how the VO is convinced that u will return back to yr home country

I would disagree with @adiben. The minimum amount of money that you need to show is tuition fee for the first year plus 10,000 cad. So in your case that would be 29,000 cad.
Chances depends on your application. try to go through all of my posts and threads through my profile. There is a lot of information there. Do the same with every experienced member and you'll learn a lot. Also check the reasons of refusal of applicants on this forum and avoid those mistakes.
I got the medical call and have even passed the medical. But after my medical I received a request to submit IELTS results by 6 August, and I got this request on 6 July. I have since then tried to register for the 21st July IELTS test, but for some reason the payment was cancelled and the registration couldn't go through. I might have to register for the 28th July IELTS test, but I'll be getting it's result on the 10th of August.
Is there any way of getting an extension in that 6 Aug deadline? If I take the 28 July wala test, I will get its result on 10 Aug, so how can I tell the VO that I'll be getting the result on the 10th ?

Well i guess you should book ielts as soon as possible and send them the inquiry with ielts registration document what ever you will receive either email or by hand. Plus inform them you will receive the IELTS result after 13 days. And request them to provide you grace period of submitting IELTS beyound the result date so that you would be able to submit it to them timely.
Please not that, do not keep silent.. you have to respond them otherwise as per CIC they could refuse your visa application after 30 days.
Yes lol, I don't plan on remaining silent specially when medical call was made and it was also passed.
So I should mention this and attach the registration confirmation of IELTS in the CSE? And I shud also request an extension to the 6 Aug deadline in the CSE itself? Because the document requested has to be uploaded on the MyCIC portal, and only a single document can be uploaded there.
