Hey fellow Vancouverites!

I have good news! (chants: oath, oath, oath!)

My oath invitation has finally arrived today in a scroll carried by a very slow-flying pigeon (just kidding, it was by email).
After five weeks since Decision Made and a fair bit of desperation and despair, I am summoned to take the oath on June 22nd, 2018 at 8 am.

I cannot be more thrilled to finally become Canadian (and to be done with the endless waiting and uncertainties but that's beside the point).
I hope this is a sign that Vancouver office is picking up its rather sluggish pace during the last few weeks and is sending out more invites for you guys!

I will update you guys after the ceremony.

Here are the dates:

Oath Invite Received: 2018/05/25
Oath Ceremony: 2018/06/22

Please update and good luck!
Congrats!

Official invitation received by email on May 25th, exactly 3 weeks prior to June 15th.

EDIT TO ADD: June 15th date confirmed with CIC through email, will receive the official invite 3-4 weeks prior to event

I received an unusual email today.

Some background: IP since early Feb, applied with an address from a remote Vancouver island location (though I moved to Vancouver more recently)

To summarize, my email says IRCC will be delivering citizenship services on those locations and dates:

Victoria, BC: Fall 2018
 Nanaimo, BC: Fall 2018
 Kelowna, BC: Summer/Fall 2018
 Prince George, BC: Fall 2018
 Whitehorse, YK: Summer/Fall 2018

However, I am given the opportunity to pick a date and come to Surrey or Vancouver and do test/ceremony on the same day

Friday, June 15, 2018
 Friday, July 20, 2018
 Friday, August 17, 2018
 Friday, September 21, 2018

Those dates are for Van, I also got 4 similar dates for Surrey.

I have to email to pick a date (first come first serve), and will receive my invite 3 weeks prior.

Also, no guarantee to do the ceremony as that depends on the test+interview.

Dear fellow Vancouverites and to-be-citizens!

I have posted this in other thread already, but some of you might not be visiting other threads often...so re-posting from the other thread.

Wait is over for me, finally. Received oath invited today (29th May, 2018) for ceremony on 26th June, 2018. Keep you faith, good news is around the corner! Good luck!

Hello all! So my ceremony was yesterday. There were 72 people from 27 nationalities. I shed few tears, that's for sure... 8 years, 4 months and 10 days since I got here as a worker, but who was counting? Work permit and visa renewals, backlog on PR process, changes on rules for citizenship... Now it's over and I am a proud Canadian. Monday first thing in the morning I will be applying for my passport.

Wishing the best of luck for those of you still awaiting for updates on your process. It is all worth!

Hi all,

I have been in progress since Feb 14th but still no test invite. Anyone in the same boat?

I thought of calling the call center, but it's hard to get through for one and not sure if it's worthwhile - I assume they will just say stuff that I already know.

Thanks for sharing the info.

I guess for some reason, our processing is taking longer than others.

Wish good news will come for you and all those of us that are waiting...
