I called CIC last Thursday and they advised my application is still in Sydney. This is frustrating for Mississauga applicants. The lady advised to.keep checking my email. I do so daily!!

Google the closest 'Commissionaries' location. Go in early and get it done the same day. $45 lagaingay.

Thanks I called the number that's on the website 18882422100 and i think pressed 4 and then 2.. I called at 7:15am Edmonton time, was on hold for half an hour before i got to talk to an agent.. It didn't seem that difficult..

I called IRCC today and was told that my test date has been set i.e. June 18, 2018 @ 2.30pm. I haven't received any email confirmation or status update on the website yet. She told me that my background checks are complete and that i should be getting an email soon with the test date

Please update the spreadsheet for the test date.

Hi, I am also from Edmonton. With almost same timeline as yours. I tried to call CIC and was told that everything seems great. I will receive test invite very soon. Just wondering did you get email for invite yet or still waiting? Please update me when you get test invite. Thanks

I haven't received any email yet. This was the information that the agent provided on phone. I will let you know if there is a change in my application status or i receive an email for the test.

Quick update...
I've been IP since February 12, 2018. I have tried to call IRCC so many times, I lost track - the automated system always hung up on me after guiding me through the options... until today... at my second try today, I finally managed to get into the queue.

Had submitted in Ottawa, ON, but had moved to another province after my application was in IP.
I asked if there was an update on my status.
The woman told me that my file had now been transferred to my new province, and that I would be getting an update soon, when they were ready...

I am a bit relieved to know that at least my application was not lost / still is not in the old province of residence...

First time logging into this forum here is my update :
1) Applied November 2017 from Brampton, in IP since Feb 6,2018.
2) called CIC 5 weeks ago and the girl said all background check done and its in transit to Mississauga.
3) Called again now and the Guy said your application is still in Sydney background check happening. After that it will be transferred.
why they lying ?

In the case there is a way to do it as well. Call a Commissionaires office in Canada they'll let you know the process.

Hello there,

it is still unclear to me in what locations our files get processed, is it in Sydney or everybody in its local immigration office?
why we send files to Sydney and then they send it to local offices?
may be part of the processing is in Sydney, then they send the files to the local offices for the rest of processing !!
Could anybody clarify that to me.
