So..My current score is at 418. My 4 year bachelors degree is with a WES equivalent of 2 year diploma. I just found out that OINP requires an equivalent of a CANADIAN bachelors degree!

Is there still any chance for me to get to the OINP POOL or sa EE? Maybe thats why i havent gotten an invitation until now because I dont meet the criteria.

Principal applicant graduated BA major in consular diplomatic affairs in college of st benilde. While accompanying common law partner Bs hospitality management from enderun colleges. May pag asa po ba tumaas pag IQAS?
I actually have the same question and I do hope that the result will be different. I still have to apply for IQAS. :(

Anyway, has anyone tried getting ECA from WES and IQAS but with different result?

BTW. Guys, going back po sa application ng EE. Nakapag create na ako ng EE profile ko. Kaso, dun sa part ng amount of money to bring in Canada for the POF, need po ba na ma-meet ung sample table nila per person? What if hindi ma-meet ung ganung amount? Pwede po ba baguhin ung value non? I mean for the mean time maglagay ako ng value (target value ng POF na dadalin ko) for the sake na masend na ung EE profile ko. And iupdate ko na lang once available na, or need na po agad ng proof? TIA po!
No proof is required when submitting the EE profile. You can put any amount as long as it is equal or more than the required POF, and you can also modify it anytime, even after receiving ITA but before submitting the eAPR.

Hi po! I have not received an ITA, pero i recently received LOA from MPNP EE stream. Currently preparing my documents po so i just have some questions and clarifications sa mga nakareceive na ng ITA at nakapagsubmit na sa CIC:

1. Names - Nilagay nyo po ba ang middle name nyo or you just placed First and Last names. Sa TRV ko, i only placed First and last names and wala naman akong naging problem. I hope its the same sa EE.

2. UCI - I can see my UCI pero I left it blank on my EE profile kasi nageerror kapag nagcopy paste ako. i hope this is ok kasi optional lang naman yung field.

3. ECA - I already have my ECA thru WES, both secondary and bachelor's degree. My question is, kailangan ko po ba i-add and details regarding Secondary Education? Sa ngayon kasi sa EE profile ko, I only added my Bachelor's Degree kasi as per my ECA result, wala naman Canadian equivalency yung secondary education ko. please advise po what you did sa mga nakapagsubmit na.

4. Occupation - ano po yung sinagot nyo dun sa applicant first became qualified to practice this occupation? 0114 po ang NOC ko, as per the the requirement, several years of experience required, pero bachelor's degree lang naman sa education ang kailangan. as per research, kung kelan nakagraduate ang usual answer, so i answered kung kelan ako naggraduate which is june 2004. please advise if this is correct.

5. Work History - what if after ITA submission, lumipat ako ng work, kailangan ko ba inotify si CIC that I changed my job? In my case kasi, baka lumipat ako ng work by July, whereas i am expecting to get ITA this May.

Thank you po sa lahat ng sasagot! :)

1. suggest to make it consistent with your passport

3. highest educ lang ang actually kailangan na ECA. so kung bachelor grad ka na, no need for secondary.

4. some regulated occupations, kailangan muna ng yrs or training or apprenticeship (e.g. doctor's residency). kung walang ganun sa profession, then as good as qualified kung kailan naka graduate

5. until wala pa yung approval (PPR), yes major life events na possible maka affect sa score like paglipat ng work, kailangan inotify CIC.

not worth to try IMO. may specific and consistent standards ang educ assessment kaya limited organizations lang authorized to do it.

Ibig sabihin po, possible same result lang makuha mo?
Yes. I've never heard/read of anyone retrying ECA, yan general feedback na nabasa ko dito sa forum. I'd personally expect that too to be the case too, otherwise people would be recommending a specific organization.

What I generally recommend is to ask your school kung may experience na sila sa ECA and which organization, then go with that. Aside from familiar yung school mo sa process, familiar na rin yung organization sa school mo.

It is therefore impossible to get an NOI from Ontario since my ECA is not equivalent to a Bachelors Degree. Unless it is otherwise even my ECA is only equivalent to College Diploma (2 years).

Next question is, has anyone received an NOI with an College Diploma (2 years) equivalency?

It is not unheard of for a person who has not gotten a bachelor’s degree equivalent to opt for re-assessment at a different body to get a higher equivalent. There are many cases out there who were successful in doing so. In fact, I personally know someone who received a 2-year diploma Canadian equivalent from WES. He graduated from DLSU-Dasma. He opted to go for re-evaluation at ICES and got a 3-year bachelor’s degree. In conclusion, different ECA bodies have their own specific standards for assessment. If you have put in more time to research, you would have also known that IQAS is more lenient than WES, with the downside being it takes them longer to process your application.

I suggest you go for re-evaluation. My friend got his assessment from ICES in 2-weeks time afer they have received all the douments. If you are not in a rush, you can also try IQAS.

That's interesting. If that's the case, then it's also safe to assume that you can also get a "lower" assessment.

If you're willing to spend again for that, go right ahead. Well if your application depended entirely on it (e.g. some provincial nominations require a min degree), then you basically have no choice but to redo it.

FYI for others though, there's a total of 5 organizations accredited to do ECA: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=681&top=29

WES, ICES and IQAS have their own issues (havent heard much about the 2 others). I'd still recommend asking your school which one they're familiar with. The others will then be a gamble.

Yes, but to say it's "not worth to try" (in your previous reply) would be to ignore any possibility or chance that could help one's application. Let us avoid singularity and instead do further adequate and solid research prior to saying such bold statements because it might rub people off the wrong way. :)

I am going to leave this here for people who might find this useful: this Facebook comment contains the list of institutions' education equivalency given by WES. Or for those who do not have a Facebook account and are not able to see the comment, this is the content:

Philippine educational institutions awarded better Canadian equivalency results than 4:2 or 5:3 by WES. Send us a message if you have a WES ECA that shows results better than 4:2 or 5:3.

4:4 or 5:5
Ateneo de Manila University
De la Salle University - Manila
University of Santo Tomas
University of the Philippines - Diliman
University of the Philippines - Manila

4:3 or 5:4
Ateneo de Davao University
Far Eastern University
Mindanao State University - Marawi
Philippine School of Business Administration - Manila
Philippine School of Business Administration - Quezon City
Saint Paul University - Manila
Silliman University
University of Cebu
University of San Carlos - Cebu
University of the East - Manila
Xavier University - Cagayan de Oro

For potentially better results, obtain ECA from BCIT ICES or Alberta IQAS instead.
