Thanks for replying @Jakev
As you said "Get the roles and responsibilities roughed out, and get it signed by a senior"..
This means it will be a certificate detailing roles and responsibilities and designation only and no other detail like date of joining, salary etc. and signed by senior and supported by all other docs..
Also can it mention that this person is carryimg out duties as per deptt.'s published manual (relevant pages attached alongwith..)
Yes- your understanding is correct.

Your posts have been really helpful @Jakev ..
In my last post I asked
"Also can it mention that this person is carrying out duties as per deptt.'s published manual (relevant pages attached alongwith..)"
I wanted to ask that instead of detailing duties on certificate itself what if I attach manual to certificate.
Please advise. And thanks for being patient and answering queries..

No,it’s better to have the roles and responsibilities drafted out and notarised.

The HR need not mention anything on your letter regarding purpose of the same. It is for Whom it may concern only. You can tell them either you need this for study or maybe you applying for a govt job or something whatever works for you and convinces them.

It takes barely 2 hours to get your PCC- only if your passport is older than 1.5 years OR you changed address recently, there would be a police check.
Thanks for replying .. You mentioned that "It takes barely 2 hours to get your PCC- only if your passport is older than 1.5 years OR you changed address recently, there would be a police check." but as per Q.No. 67 on http://www.passportindia.gov.in/AppOnlineProject/online/faqServicesAvailable there is no such mention of 1.5 yrs and police verification is needed only in case of the address change. Is it something you quoted from your experience bcz my passport is around 2 yrs old an as per your statement police verification will be needed in my case and thus I have to apply much in advance bcz police verification is gonna take a long time. Please clarify. Thanks.

Hello guys.. Need some advice here..
As @Jakev advised that there is no standard way in which visa officer verifies reference letter... Can anybody shed some more light on this aspect as to how visa officer verifies the reference letter? Do they use contact details as mentioned in reference letter or they approach Hr deptt. directly. Or, are there any other methods? Please advise. Any advice would be of great help.

Dear these are just personal experiences that everyone is sharing...and this will be different for different cases...the best is that you apply for your PCC at the earliest to avoid anything unforeseen.....

Hello to everyone,

I am not sure this query is fully relevant to this section if it's irrelevant, please forgive me.

I received Canadian PR through Express Entry and I went to Canada and stayed there for 6 months( I received my PR card as well), after that, I returned to my country and got married.

Now I am interested to go to Canada again and want to take my spouse with me, but CIC website says's I can not sponsor my spouse while I am outside Canada, so what is the best possible way to take my spouse with me.

Shall I apply for his visit visa? if yes, what is the chances of getting the visa, what should be his purpose of the visit? is it should be visiting family or tourism or others.

if his visit visa application is rejected will it affect his immigration application later on?

Thanks a lot in advance.

I have heard cases where the Visa Officer (technically a lawyer in India) visits the office and can even talk to the receptionist or even security guards to know about if you really work there or not. And yes, they contact through the telephone numbers mentioned on your reference letter.

I need some advice on following matter
My officer has issued me reference letter without explicitly detailing my duties, but it mentions that I'm performing duties and responsibilities as "my designation" under "my controlling office name & address". And my deptt. has a published manual that details duties of "my designation". Now if I support such reference letter with such manual explicitly detailing duties for "my designation", Will this be sufficient?
Pls advise. I'll be really grateful.

As per the CIC, reference letter should have duties mentioned. If your boss or HR is not issuing such document, you can draft yourself and get it signed by one of your colleague and mention in your LOE about it.
