Hello, I called the call centre yesterday to enquire about my application status. I was told that cic has launched a new pilot project in which an immigration officer calls you and you can discuss with him anything related to your file or ask questions. It could possibly not be the officer that is reviewing my file but any officer. I was asked if I am interested in it. I said YES!!! I was told I should receive a call within 7 business days. An email was sent later to confirm.

Has anyone heard about this pilot project?

This is nice. Lots of people want to talk to their case officer (or any officer) and have no chance..

In the 2018 IRCC budget exists a target of 90% customer satisfaction with regards to citizenship applications within the next couple of years. I suppose they could do something like this, but I'm a bit skeptical.

What is this person going to tell you that the call centre agent doesn't already? And I can't imagine it would be the case officer handling your file because how would they get anything done when they have to call 100's or even 1,000's of people back and spend any amount of time answering questions? Perhaps I'm just pessimistic, but I can see this as being useful if you pass through the 12 month barrier without being done or more than 6 months as DM without an oath invitation. But how about the many, many simply impatient people that would call after 3 months wondering why they haven't received a test invitation or why is my background check taking so long? The answers will still amount to canned responses, I think.

I am interested in seeing how this goes. I was asked to prepare all the questions I have in mind so I can ask the officer who calls me. I was the officer will be able to answer more detailed questions about my application that the call centre can't answer. Keep in mind I applied for an urgent application for which my officer hasn't accepted or rejected that urgent request its just attached to the file.

Are you sure that the call back isn't just because you have the urgent request, in which case I could understand a phone call with the officer? Or did they really say they'd call anyone back?

Yes I am sure! The agent was pretty clear that there is a pilot project that they have just launched and if I was interested to participate in it.

It’s probably will be something like survey where they asked you questions about how they are doing and you also asking your own questions so they could improve their services. I got an invite back in February It’s was for people who already got DM by an agency called Advanis who was doing survey for IRCC.

I don't think this service will be in Montreal office for the next 20 years

Unless there is an issue with the application, there isn't much to discuss or ask. All is needed is one question: When will you finish my application?!!

When I called last Thursday, the agent did not mention anything about pilot project but he asked if I would like an officer to call me back within 7 days with more info about my case. I said yes and he said to prepare a list of questions that I would like to ask and he sent me an email afterwards to confirm what he said over the phone.
I applied Oct 16, AOR Nov 29, IP Jan 11. I am from Manitoba but 8 hours away from local IRCC. I will be scheduled when the itinerant services comes to a place 3hrs away from me and they come only once a year. They had to come end of May as their tbd on the website but no updates so far and after IP I have not hear form them, this is why I called. Anyway lets hope whoever call back have some useful info lol

If it is not a scam, then it’s a great news. Anyway I would be double cautious about receiving phone calls from the government officials.

I suggest that you spend some time googling around for this pilot project to confirm its existence.
