I've done my citizenship test last April 3 received a notice of oath last April 20 oath taking ceremony scheduled on May 8.
Congrats!

You are a winnipeg applicant though, right? Not Scarborough
This thread is for Scarborough applicants with "Decision Made" waiting for Oath

I think these agents and clerical workers in the 'hot zone' called Scarborough are overwhelmed. We all know they get the bulk of applications.
CIC or IRCC top management is responsible for allocation of resources. The persons at CIC who are responsible for national Operations for local offices are the ones to be blamed for the way they allocate resources. At the same time, I think their budget may not allow the hiring of more judges etc. CIC is a huge agency and bureaucracy with a limited budget; an I don't think they will hire Six Sigma consultants to improve their operations. Who knows? We can only speculate here and share our frustration.

P.S.: The last conservative gvt seems to have done a good job at streamlining the process with C-24. Were it not for that, we would be talking about couple years for processing.

true..based on Google sheet: out of 269 Toronto/Scarborough/Mississauga applicants from October, only 26, or less than 10% have oath..

Lets say you took your car to the body shop, and were told it takes a month to get it ready, you pass by a week later and see the body repairs and paint is done..but the bodyshop owner tells you the last step remaining is to wash the car and polish it, that will take 3 weeks so come back later.

This is the part which i (and maybe others) are not happy about. If it takes 3-4 months to get to DM thats 90% of the work done already....it doesn't make much sense to have to wait 6-9 months for the car polish (oath), we need to get rollin' man :p
This is a fantastic analogy. However, the guy that washes the cars also has to fill out a bunch of paperwork for each car he washes because it’s his job to finalize the paperwork. He can only finish 8 cars a day and there are hundreds that came in before you.

Now before you say that he should just staff up, keep in mind that his prices are regulated because he’s providing a service for which people are entitled. He’s not making a profit so the business owner sets a completion timeline that is approved by the governing body and is known by all, even the customers.

In short, it doesn’t matter what the stage your car is in as long as you’re done in the time span generally accepted. The car wash guy is working hard and to say he is lazy just isn’t fair.

The only point you are missing here is that people are getting uneasy because they see applications around them moving faster. Consider Donald Duck, SpiceIsland.. as per the sheet, Donald Duck is the only person from July who is still waiting (from the list of people who are entered in the sheet. there may be others from July who are still waiting, but we dont know). and when he sees October applicants from the same office getting invites, he has every reason to be pissed off. its not about the 12 month timeline. its about being fair towards everyone. if everyone is getting the invite in their 12th month, then i would agree. i dont have any issues waiting till my 12th month. i can plan my vacations easily. everyone's situation is different.
There is something odd going on with DD’s application, that much is evident, seeing as its being shuffled between offices. So all due respect to him, I don’t think his can be considered when talking about fair and not.

I am a July applicant too. And the whole process is ridiculous and no sense to me whatever the reason is. I got DM last November and no reason for the delay at all. Robotic people behind the phone keep saying wait until 12 month. I am sure I might reach 12 month and then they will start to wonder why the delay! Very funny how the whole process goes. Total inconsistency.

Your post is at the very least misleading.

Firstly, offices have been notoriously inconsistent in what is posted for ceremonies, so this listing should not be used as any sort of barometer.

Secondly, compare apples to apples. Calgary is showing oaths scheduled through June. They only have two sessions per week. Scarborough has a minimum of 4 most weeks with the occasional Toronto oath ceremony at HMCS York.
I had no intention to mislead anyone, I was just exploring as we are all trying to figure out things here. I may have missed some things in my analysis but that does not give you the right to claim that I was "misleading". That is a strong and negative word.

I have no intention of leading anyone at all, just expressed myself and I feel I have the right to as we all have been doing here.

Most of the posts are very informative. For that, I thank the people who have done their research and come to the conclusions that they share.
I, for one, neither knew that the oath invite would be via email (was rushing to my mailbox daily) nor did I have any idea of timelines. I thought I’d get the oath letter within a week of my DM.
Whilst I find the wait frustrating, and wish there was more consistency across the board amongst offices, because of this forum, I know that I am not alone, and there is a sense of relief in that knowledge. So, thanks.

My application was received on Aug 3rd and am still waiting.
And these are only the people on this forum. I am pretty sure there many people that are not here that are still waiting as well.
